yea so I chose Stuart. Hopefully she won’t be too bad.

I want to enroll for LTEN28, the intro to asian-american lit. I’m #3 on the waitlist, should I keep my waitlist spot, or go for another class?

^Definitely keep your spot

How about waitlisting for a freshman seminar? I want to take beginning uklete (hehe) but there’s already 3 on the waitlist and I still have to get cleared by the department. I know it’s not dire for me to take the class but I’d like to. Chances?

How about something like warren writing, should I still waitlist if there’s already 2 people?

@ vyoung - you might as well stay on the waitlist! the seminars are not required so worst case scenario is you wouldn’t get in and you would have 1 less unit.

As Say What? mentioned above, there is a wiating list for CSE91, however it says there are 120 seats total, 104 available, and 67 on the waiting list. What does it mean when there is a waiting list but there are still seats available? I’ve seen this on a couple other cleasses too where there is a waiting list before the available seats are gone.

^ I’m assuming you get the class if it’s required for your major. That’s how I got the course…

I wonder why so many non-majors would want to take CSE91?

There was an email earlier today. It said that there was a problem, but if you try to add it again it should work.

If there are three people ahead of me in the wait-list, do you think I can get into the class? (It is not Johnson’s chem class)

Why are there so few spots for math classes? Will more spots really open up? When is the ‘normal registration’ time?

@ R1-HK - most likely, you will get in. What class is it??

Christina Stuart’s Chem 6A class. I hope the waitlist does not increase anymore.

Yeah you should be fine. Chem is always a little sketchy to waitlist but being 3rd gives you a very good chance of getting in.

i’m scheduling…today at 8:40 am. but i don’t wanna do a thursday 5-6 pm discussion for math 10a…but there’s no one waitlisted for the full 4-5 pm yet. with the class planner, most days i finish all my classes by like 12:30 pm…so this discussion is kind of inconvenient. but…it’s either that or the 4-5 one. is it worth the effort to change the discussion to make it one hour earlier? if i waitlist and don’t get the 4-5 discussion then i’ll probably be stuck with the time slots that come after, ending with the worst 8-9 pm discussion.

and since it’s math, i figure SOMEONE’S bound to drop. but i know nothing about drop rates or anything like that…so…any advice?

thanks!

I am in the same predicament as saraahhh. Please advise if possible.

Since you’re registering in the morning, there will be hardly anyone on the waitlist (or maybe no one still). Register for the 4-5 one.

I am a huge fan of waitlisting. It generally works out fine, try not to stress about it! Lots of people end up dropping classes and/or switching sections.

i have to waitlist eggers for math 20A and stuart for chem 6A… these are 2 reqs for my major…arent i pretty much screwed if i dont get into these classes?

is there a realistic chance of being 33 on a waitlist for a class of 100 and making it into the class for MAE 9?
