Post here if you're on the wait list or have gotten off the wait list!

I’m on the wait list! Emory is my top choice so I’m extremely nervous, and both optimistic and pessimistic at the same time. Does anyone know when we should expect to hear back?

They said, “usually,” between may to mid june so you never know. Still the chances of each of us is extremely low between 0-10%.

Is it too late to write a letter? Lol

I was just accepted off the waitlist!!!

I think it might be too late for a letter, but it’s worth a try. I wrote one a couple weeks ago and they sent me an email saying the deadline for additional info was May 1st. Still hoping, but attending Oxford as of now.

@Areed21996 What are your stats? Also did you visit or write an email, etc.?

and did they call or email?

Updated admissions on my inclusion in the Ron Brown Scholars Captain Program, Nomination for Scholar Athlete of the Year, and becoming Honoree of my school’s EAHS Day Court (a high honor of the school in which the faculty chooses 7 Seniors who have excelled academically and extracurricularly to be honored in the presence of local officials and school board members), medaled in State Oratory Competion-moving to Nationals. 2000 SAT exactly, yes I know quite unusual. Also I sent my track and field league and district performances to the coach. I sent admissions two emails, one in March and one at the end of April. Best of luck, the woman said they are still looking to remove students from the waitlist. @heyman27 Also I’m OOS via PA. I also suggest expressing to admissions your plans for the summer, I did and perhaps it helped also.

@heyman27 And they called around 4:30 this afternoon and followed up with an email.

@Areed21996 Seems like you deserve it after all that hard work. How do you update your application other than by emailing them?

Thank you so much, I appreciate it and I hope that you get off as well! The biggest tip I have would be showing interest in the school because Emory is known for wailtlisitng individuals who are qualified, however may not have demonstrated enough interest in the school in the first place. The game to be played at the moment is moreso showing interest than showing accomplishments, since they already like you enough to place you on the waitlist. And I sent them letters which were just printed off copies of the emails I sent. @heyman27

Did you send it to admissions or any admissions officer in specific? I want to make sure I get this right lol @Areed21996

@heyman27 Also your guidance counselor should send them your 3rd quarter and 4th quarter grades.

Thanks for the tips. I really hope I can get in!

@heyman27 Send it to admission@emory.edu. The update has to be in a PDF, and at the top it must include along with your name your Date of Birth and your EPMILD # which is at the top of your decision letter online. This is all information I received directly from admissions. A few hours or a day or so after you send the email you should get an automated reply letting you know that the update is received and has been sent to your regional admissions officer.

@heyman27 The letter you can send to the undergraduate admissions office at Emory it’s on the website.

@heyman27 You’re welcome I’m so rooting for you!

Thanks!
