Good luck at Villanova. It’s a fine school. Not going to Boston College isn’t the end of the world.

Does anyone know if BC is still accepting transfers to fill the sophomore class off the waitlist?

It’s not that bad. Villanova’s business school is ranked a few spaces higher than BC’s, even.

well I have not heard anything about the waitlist being closed for transfers/class of 2012, so I’m still trying to have hope!

These schools have only gotten more competitive, even since your daughter graduated in 2008. That probably explains why your younger child, whom you call a “stronger” student, didn’t get in this year. It does stink.

Sunny, You’re right. My BC grad daughter says she couldn’t get in to BC now if she tried over again. But, she (secretly) didn’t want to share her college with her younger sister and really talked up Villanova to her. I believe in the everything happens for a reason thing. It may sound corny, but my youngest daughter’s destiny just wasn’t in Boston. She could have gone to BU or Providence, but she chose Villanova. So, that’s where we’ll be going for the next 4 years! :)

still waiting…hoping to hear something before the end of June…

ahhh…anything on if BC is still going to accept transfers off the waitlist to fill their sophomore class?? I really want to know… anyone know anything?

are any of you still waiting to hear a decision–good or bad–for the freshman 2013 class?? they said in the waitlist letter, “We pledge to resolve your status no later than July 1st,” which is rapidly approaching, and i still haven’t heard either way. i’m pretty much assuming rejection, but don’t they still tell you that they won’t be accepting you?

anyone…? (sorry to be annoying, but tomorrow is July 1st, and I really want to know if anyone else is still waiting…or if they even tell you if you’re rejected…)

grace:

I think that there are a few of us out here (praying nightly)…I have to assume that all colleges will send out a letter stating that the WL is ‘now closed…’, but haven’t heard anything yet.

oh my gosh…so have we pretty much come to the conclusion that the Fin Aid Award Notification tab means acceptance??? mine just showed up this morning!!! i’m not assuming acceptance though…it could just be a change that was made because it’s July 1st aka the closing day of the waitlist (supposedly)…anyone else out there who’s still waiting notice this change???

^ w00t. Good luck, kid. I hope your interpretation is correct. I’d say give 'em a call and let us know.

i just called the admissions office, and i’m in!!! good luck to all of you!!

thanks for the good wishes colmom…with the holiday and the USPS working only half-day on Friday, snail mail could take forever!

hi grace08 and congratulations on your acceptance!
Out of curiosity I tried signing on to Agora today, and I saw the fin aid notification tab. But after I clicked on it, it says “You currently do not have an award notification to view.”
Is that what yours said too? cause I’m really nervous right now hahah
