Waitlist UCF 2020

extremely proud of you! wishing you all the best and hope to see you if i get accepted <3

your GPA is really good so it may outweigh your SAT score; my SAT score is also low at 1080 but someone with a 1080 got off the waitlist not too long ago so have hope! if you do not need to commit to another university anytime soon, i would recommend an expedited decision. if not, it wouldn’t hurt to wait a little after may 1st but it’s always up to you, just know that people have been getting off the waitlist so there is some reassurance there!

Thank you! I actually requested it earlier this week on Monday, so that’s quite odd that you haven’t heard back from them yet. Maybe you could try calling them to see what’s going on?

Now that everyone is asking for an expedited decision, I’m thinking about doing it also but I don’t know if my stats are decent enough to make it through.
I have a 3.5 uw and a 4.3 w I also take one duel enrollment class at Embry Riddle and my ACT is a 20 which is pretty low.

How do I go about asking for an expedited decision? I see a lot of people asking for one and getting accepted so I might do the same

I tried calling them and they said to hold on a bit longer because a lot of people are requesting expedited decisions at the moment so I guess we’ll see. Wishing you the best of luck at UCF!

Hey guys, I am really torn between asking for an expedited decision or not. I see a lot of you guys have been getting offered admission from using the expedited decision (Congrats!). I am willing to wait until may 31st if that gives me the best chance of getting in to the school, but at this point I don’t know what gives me the best chance. What should I do? I have a good GPA taking all AP since freshman year, with 21 dual enrollment credits from valencia, however my SAT is on the lower side, 1070.
Please help!!! Thanks.

I think you have a pretty high chance of getting in since you have a high GPA (I’m assuming) and dual enrollment credits. Someone else got in with a 1080 so I wouldn’t worry too much.

Thank you! Do you think I should just wait it out then?

i personally think you should wait it out! spots will become available soon and i honestly think you can get in with your stats despite your SAT score being on the lower side (someone got in with a 1080 and i also have a 1080 deciding to wait it out or not). you have a lot of pros for your stats so i wouldn’t worry too much.

Thank you for the advise! I really hope we all get in. The fact that we care so much shows that we deserve to be at this school. Good luck to all.

My daughter was offered summer admission yesterday. The only glitch we have is that her graduation date is June 28 and summer B starts on June 24. We are waiting to hear back from admissions.

congratulations!!! if you don’t mind me asking, what are her stats?

Did she request and expedited decision?

Yes, she did ask for the expedited decision. Her UW GPA was 3.7 and her weighted was 4.2. Her SAT was an 1180.

Wow thats amazing! When did she ask for the expedited decision and how long did it take for her to hear back from them?

I don’t think that will be a problem, but you will have to submit her final HS transcript. She will register for her one online class for Summer B during orientation.

You are going to be inundated with emails, and every one of them is important. The first step will be sending in her enrollment deposit. Then you will receive an OK to apply for housing, submit the application for housing and housing deposit. You will get confirmation that she has been accepted for housing.

You and/or she will get info about Orientation, which will be conducted 100% online this year. Hers is mandatory, parents orientation is optional.

She will also need to submit 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 FAFSAs.

Congratulations!

Hey I am also a UNF person, I actually contacted them about commit dates because I wanted to wait it out and they said they’re not doing orientation until Aug 14-16. So, the recommended commit day for unf is may 1st but you can commit after that!

It only took her about two days to hear about expedited decision. However the transcript date is a problem and they won’t budge. If her transcript is not dated by June 22, they will push her admissions back until the Spring semester. They said there is no room in the fall. So we are working with her guidance counselor to try to find a solution. If our Governor had cancelled school for the rest of the year, we wouldn’t have this problem. Ugh.

i’ve been reading this thread for a while now. so i asked for an expedited decision two days ago. today i got accepted for the summer term. which is fine, just an extra class. i hope all of you get accepted as well. i was waitlisted back in Feb.
