i have a question, at this time, would more people get accepted into the summer or fall term? because most people are getting accepted into the summer but there are some possibilities for fall as i believe 2 people got into the fall term from this forum. i was just wondering the chances of each term off the waitlist and either one is good in my opinion but i was just wondering out of curiosity
Hey so I just wanted to update you guys that I asked for an expedited decision. I know I said I was going to wait until later, but if I get off the waitlist for summer term, I donât want to pay for my Valencia summer classes (payment due May 1st). Iâll update you guys when I know, but here are my stats:
Iâm really hoping to get in. Just wondering if anyone in this forum is considering apartment living if they get in/have gotten in? My friend and coworker has been accepted for a long time and is still trying to get a dorm, Iâm worried I wonât be able to get a dorm and wonât have anyone to live with if I try an apartment!
Hey guys so after seeing many people on here expedite their decisions and getting accepted, I decided to try my luck and asked for an expedited decision on Wednesday. Thankfully this morning I just checked my account and I got in for the summer term! Im so happy that the wait is finally over and hope to see you guys at UCF!
First of all, there is something wrong with the idea that your friend got accepted and hasnât gotten a dorm yet. First you commit to UCF and pay your enrollment deposit. Within 48 hours or so, you get the approval to apply for a dorm, which you do and submit your deposit. For my daughter, that decision was next day approval, so them waiting a long time doesnât match our experience at all.
What they may be saying is they have not selected a specific dorm ROOM yet. That wonât happen until May/June. At that point, you get to pick which building within a complex you want, which floor, and finally the actual room number.
If your friend has been approved for a dorm, but has not yet selected their room, they will probably be able to pull you into their room â provided, of course, you want to room with them.
One thing to watch out for with dorms is the CONTRACT. Some dorms have a two-term contract (Fall and Spring), but others have a full year contract (Fall, Spring, Summer). KNOW what you are signing up for.
If you donât have prospective roommates, there is a questionnaire you fill out with your preferences, and UCF Housing uses that to match you with similar students.
UCF Housing also has some kind of arrangement with several off-campus apartment complexes, but I havenât researched those.
Because of the virus outbreak arenât campuses closed right now? Im just wondering if I should apply for fall or spring housing cause if the campuses are closed would they still let us move in?
Also Knight Towers is a good off campus apartment thats with UCF. My sister lives there and its really nice, if anyone here chooses not to live in dorms.
Our son requested an expedited decision Wednesday afternoon and was offered admission today! He was offered the spring term which is not ideal but with COVID-19 we are hearing Fall may be entirely online so we are happy and grateful!
Any housing recommendations are therefore welcome
Thank you to everyone on this thread! Hearing everyoneâs experience encouraged him to ask for the expedited decision and now he is officially a Knight!
