Unweighted GPA: 3.38
Weighted: 3.72
SAT: 1170
However, I had a little bit over a semesterās worth of dual enrollment credits with a perfect college GPA so I feel like that had a big influence.
Hey just wanted to let you guys know, I got denied today. To say again, my stats were:
Unweighted: 3.3
Weighted 3.7
ACT: 32
SAT: 1230
If you guys are debating requesting an expedited decision, I would recommend against it if you have the time to wait thank you for going on this journey with me
I wonder what UCFās requirements are for accepting people who asked for an expedited decision? You have an extremely high ACT and SAT score, im shocked you didnāt get in?
Just to follow up on housing- if you have gotten into UCF for the Summer- make sure you apply for Fall housing ASAP. The truth is UCF does not guarantee housing for Freshman. Pulling people off of waitlist so UCF can make numbers is what is important to UCF- not their ability to house you, so make sure you have some options for where you will live when we hopefully get back on campus.
FYI- I am not excited about the condition of the dorms after all of this. Many students left on Spring Break and didnāt come back. The refrigerators have food just sitting in them. D18 just got notification that she might be able to move her stuff out between May and July!!! We cleaned out her fridge, turned down the AC and put out Damp Rid. I shutter to think of the other apartments.
Hey guys!! Iāve been following yāall for a few weeks now on behalf of my boyfriend (Iām already in) because heās been on the waitlist for a few months now. He applied late and was trying to up his SAT/ACT when all of the testing got canceled.
Right now, his stats are SAT 1190, ACT 22, UW 3.37, & W 3.83.
If applications go off stats, does he have a pretty good chance? He really only wants to go to UCF and while he got into other colleges for fall and summer he is willing to stay at a local state college for fall and apply for spring (due Nov. 1st), which means May 1st doesnāt matter as much to him. Do yāall recommend he get an expedited decision after May 1st to hurry it up or wait out until the 31st? Really any advice from yāall would be great. TIA!!
(as for his housing, one of his best friends is Top 10 and he can pull my boyfriend in whenever he goes so thatās all good)
hi! i think with your boyfriendās stats, he will be able to get in; however, i keep hearing rejections and most are surprising due to some stats. i hope that your boyfriend put a lot of good details and information on his application (i hear ucf doesnāt care about extracurriculars, essay, etc) but i think those factors really come into play as we canāt fully rely on stats at this point anymore (for example, some people with a higher SAT score than your boyfriend got rejected or around the same GPA as him got rejected).
so now, i kinda changed my mindset and outlook on the waitlist because my friend did once say that college admission is like a lottery; itās intense. i think your boyfriend has a chance with getting accepted but i really hope his application is able to shine more than his stats!
i think most people on this forum said that after may 1st, there may be more spots available for freshmen admission because most people will commit on may 1st. whether he waits after may 1st or until may 31st, maybe either one is fine. i personally would say that if he doesnāt hear back by mid-may then he should request for an expedited decision because i feel that spots will continue to be taken up as the may 31st date approaches (since hearing a response from the waitlist is rolling, meaning that you can be taken off anytime).
Thank you so much!! Thatās super helpful, I kinda thought about how itāll fill up after May 1st but couldnāt articulate properly and you put it so well. Thanks!
I hate to say this, but in all honesty, I donāt think any of us have a clue what goes into UCF waitlist decisionsā¦whether or not there is any risk in asking for an expedited decisionā¦or anything else about waitlist.
We simply donāt know how they make these decisions.
I can make the argument that someone who requests expedited decision is someone who REALLY wants UCF, and therefore might be a better candidate.
I can make the argument that there will be FEWER openings after May 1 than there are now.
I can make the argument that there will be MORE openings after May 1 than there are now.
WE DO NOT KNOW. So I am very reluctant to guess about whether expedited decision is more risky, or less risky, than waiting.
I requested an expedited decision and I was accepted the next day for the summer term. My mother paid my enrollment fee but the Orientation spots are full. So I canāt register for Orientation. Does anyone else have this issue? Will they open up more spots?
Glad to hear you got accepted! This is making me worried cause I also got in for summer but im in process of paying the enrollment deposit. But to hear that there are no spots for orientation makes me worried? Are there just no spots at all or only for the summer orientation?
aw thank you so much! i was very stressed about it because it is a risky decision but hearing your acceptance and how sweet you are makes me feel good. at this moment, iām relying on faith and hope haha <3
I was accepted for the summer term and there are three Orientation sessions to choose from. However, all sessions are full. Now, Iām worried because I have a second offer on the table but Iām out $200. I emailed the school. Hopefully, things will work out. It just sucks that I have to wait yet again for a response. ? Someone told me that something similar happened to them and they had to start two terms later
