We had a kind of pre-orientation Zoom thing tonight with UCF staff where we were allowed to submit written questions. I asked whether it was better to ask for expedited decision or just wait for you guys on the fence, but unfortunately they did not answer the question.
YAY congrats! I love hearing about more people getting accepted from an expedited decision. I hope this gives hope to others thinking about requesting one.
i donât think it matters if you request an expedited decision and youâre in state or out of state. most people in this forum are in state and we asked but then darasophia is out of state and just said that theyâre out of state!
I have a few questionsâŚHas anyone got accepted off the waitlist without asking for an expedited decision? And I put my deposit for Fiu, but if Ucf accepts me Iâll be going there, so does anyone know how to get around that? Like how would I tell Fiu that I would not be attending, do I retract my acceptance by calling or emailing?
I believe those deposits are non-refundable, but they may make some exceptions due to covid-19.
And it may depend on what you tell them, too. If you tell them you decided to go to UCF, good luck, lol. ButâŚif you say you donât feel comfortable because of the pandemic, that might be a different story.
If you are okay with going to FIU (Itâs a VERY good school), I would leave the deposit in place until you hear from UCF.
Worst case scenario, you lose $200. In the grand scheme of college costs, $200 is nothing.
I was on the waitlist and got accepted for the fall without asking for an expedited decision. Before I got accepted I put in my deposit for FGCU just to secure a spot . After I got accepted to UCF, I emailed FGCUâs admissions office and let them know that I would no longer attend there. It should be that simple.
from my observations, there were a few who got accepted off the waitlist by just waiting but majority from this forum asked for an expedited decision and got accepted. i think the people who got accepted off the waitlist by just waiting had probably higher stats and ucf chooses those students first.
ucfâs deposit is non-refundable. i think if you put in your deposit for fiu already, just leave it there until ucf responds and email or call fiu to cancel your deposit? weâre not sure if fiu has refunds but iâm sure it says on their website!
hi omg iâm so happy i just got off the waitlist for the summer term!! i canât believe i got a response so fast i would so recommend doing a expedited decision
hey guys iv been following the forum for a while now and finally decided to speak out sice iv been really nervous , do you think I should keep waiting till may 31 or ask for a expedited decision, because Iâm scared that I will be rejected and regret not waiting, but at the same time I feel like spots are going to close and everyones been asking for an expedited decision
