Waitlist UCF 2020

do you mind telling us your stats? @briannaurea

ya no problem. i had very low stats tbh
sat 1120
act 23
UW3.13
W 3.3
i took 2 IB classes
iā€™m a political science major and honestly i think itā€™s 100% ur major when getting off waitlist because i am a smaller not as competitive major at ucf compared to like psychology

congratulations love!!! wishing you the best for this summer and hopefully we can see each other during fall <3

i honestly had this same mindset when pondering if i should get an expedited decision or keep on waiting. if youā€™re confident enough and if ucf is your top school then maybe ask for an expedited decision. a piece of advice is to not only rely on your stats because some people from this forum probably relied on their stats too heavily (ie. some people with higher stats got denied even though it was a huge shock) so make sure your application has other factors that can make you shine.

waiting until may 31st may not be too bad because you can get off the waitlist on a rolling basis, meaning that you can get off anytime up until the last date. i also heard some theories that with whatā€™s going on, ucf may be more lenient on who they accept.

overall, i donā€™t think anyone knows if there is a possibility of more spaces opening up after may 1st or if there is less. i personally feel like once itā€™s the may 31st date, there will be a small pool of waitlisted applicants that have been accepted. itā€™s like may 31st is their last date to get in the students they really want so they may be more tedious and observant with people who show more in their applications or intrigue them.

Hey guys Iā€™ve been following this forum for some time. Iā€™ve been waitlisted since February, itā€™s almost May 1st, I was wondering do you think Iā€™ll have a better chance of getting accepted if I ask for an exexpedited decision or should I just wait it out. My SAT score is not the best but I have a good GPA and took a lot of AP classes

i was in the same situation. i think that if you have a good overall application that shows youā€™re determined and that you can succeed in their eyes then i am sure you have a chance! my SAT score was low but my weighted GPA was good and i also took a lot of APs, weā€™re probably similar and i requested an expedited decision and got accepted off the waitlist.

CONGRATULATIONS!

To all the people who are on the fence about asking for an expedited decision or not, you can try and email the admissions office and they can tell you if you have a chance of getting in or not if you chose to ask for an expedited decision. Before I asked for mine, an admissions officer I was talking to on the phone said I can do that and they should be able to tell you your chances of getting in. I never tried it so I donā€™t know if they will tell you or not but its worth a shot to see!

Good luck to you all!

Everybody please keep in mind that TOMORROW is May 1st ā€“ the commitment deadline at most Florida state universities. Spots are going to open up as soon as that deadline passes ā€“ like next week.

If you CAN wait, I would wait. Either way, good luck!

i just requested an expedited decision this morning. fingers crossed i get in!! iā€™ll let you all know as soon as i find out. i have a 3.4 UW 5.2 weighted and 43 college credits

Rooting for you! Your stats seem pretty high and you have a bunch of college credits. Im sure youā€™ll get inā¤ļø

@helloX28 I have been in the same boat. I plan on waiting because you never really know the odds behind asking for an expedited decision. it could be a swift yes or a swift no. so unless you really need it ( since commitment day is tomorrow for some Florida schools ) I would advise waiting it out. I feel like for all of us this has been a painful lesson on waiting for sure but I am hopeful that we will all get a spot

First off CONGRATULATIONS!! Second I think you may be right about that because I requested a expedited decision on April 16th right after the first group of decisions came out, and I still have not heard anything. I called and asked why I have been waiting longer than others but they werenā€™t much help and just said to keep waiting. So I tried emailing them and they told me they were working on giving me the best decision while reviewing my dual credits. I applied for pre-nursing as my major and I think it would make sense why Iā€™m still waiting because it is a competitive major. Is there anyone who has been accepted asking for an expedited decision with a pre-nursing major or a major equally as competitive?

when i called ucf this morning i asked if changing my major from nursing to something else would help my chances and they said ucf doesnā€™t accept or deny based on major. i also have dual enrollment credits and applied for nursing as my major so if i hear back iā€™ll let you know!!

For people who got in for summer, has anyone been able to apply for housing? I tried but ucf took down the housing agreement since no one can be on campus rn. And I didnā€™t see a housing agreement for fall so Iā€™m not sure what to do?

Did you receive an email from housing saying you could apply?

When you are accepted and pay your enrollment deposit, a few days later you get an email saying youā€™re good and now clear to apply for housing.

If youā€™ve done all that, I would call Housing. If you canā€™t get them on the phone, email them.

As you know, all staff are working remotely, so they may have just frozen housing for now for a variety of reasons. If things are frozen, theyā€™re frozen for everyone so youā€™re not losing out.

Oh thats good news thank you! I also emailed them again yesterday about my application and today they said that they will fulfill my expedited decision request in 2-3 days so Iā€™m thinking my application was forgotten about for expedited decision so I will let you know all know my decision next week as well!

Yes, I have already applied and been confirmed for fall housing. After your enrollment deposit is paid for then you should be able to after a few days.

There is no summer housing since it is remote. You should be able to apply for fall housing if youā€™ve been admitted, though.

Did you apply for Fall-spring? I went back on the portal and it seemed to work so I guess it was down for a little bit.
