One thing I think all of you guys on the waiting list should remember is that the UCF waiting list is NOT the end of the world.
Worst case scenario, if you don’t get accepted you go somewhere else for a year or two and transfer to UCF if you want to graduate there. You’re looking at a delay or a detour – NOT the end of the road.
The other thing you should remember, and I’ve posted this before, is this:
If you are smart enough and have a good enough work ethic to qualify for the UCF waitlist, you are going to be FINE.
You’re going to succeed – no matter where you go – if you stick with what got you this far.
Hey guys I just wanted to let you all know I just got in to the fall term after asking for an expedited decision! Thank you all for providing advice and helping me throughout this process!! Here are my stats:
uw gpa: 3.4
w gap: 3.8
SAT: 1110
38 dual credits
Hey guys! I have been watching this forum since feb when I was waitlisted and today I received my acceptance for Summer! I initially applied for fall term but the change in term does not bother me. I requested an expedited decision on Friday morning and received an answer when I looked today around 4:55. I did not know if I should ask for one but my school required an answer from us by May 8th so I had no choice but to ask for one and this scared me. I am glad it worked out.
My normal stats ( not Ucf calculated) are:
UW GPA: 3.1
W GPA: 3.81
SAT: 1210
ACT: 25
I am a IB ( International Baccalaureate) student and I take AP classes/ Exams as well.
Captain of Marching Band Color Guard
Started a Club
Treasurer of BSU
Other Leadership Positions
I hope that you all receive your decisions soon and that everything works out for you all, because this process is definitely stressful.
hi everyone!! after requesting an expedited decision friday morning, i checked the portal today around 4:30 and i was offered admission for the summer term i had a 23 act 3.4 uw 5.2 w and 43 dual enrollment credits. thank you to everyone in this forum for all the great advice i wish everyone on here the best of luck!! i know you all are capable of getting in
Thank you all! I asked for fall term in my original application but was referred to the spring term. I don’t know my UCF gpa… I’ve never calculated it before
Hey guys I’m still really nervous, and I’m sure the rest of us are, I’m on the fence because idk if I should ask for expedite decision, because either way they would give us a decision by may 31, like would there be a point in asking? and I’m not in a rush or anything. but at the same time if they are gonna reject me what’s the difference than asking for it before, like either way if I were to wait or not , if its a rejection then it would be the same right, so long story short should I ask for expedite decision or do you think waiting it out would give me the same response , or should I just go for it? Do you think I should do anything before if I was to?
i still think either choice you make will be fine. it just depends on space available and your stats/overall application too. i think someone said a few replies ago that ucf is getting people with higher stats off the waitlist first and remember that the waitlist is a rolling decision at this point. however, i am not sure if this is correct because there were 2 people on this forum that had higher stats than most of us who requested an expedited decision and got denied so we can’t entirely go off of stats.
when it comes to doing anything before, are you saying is there anything to do to increase your chances before waiting longer/asking for an expedited decision? i think it’s late to do much but ucf encourages to send in new and improved test scores as well as an updated transcript.
like i said, i think either choice would be fine and may guarantee you the same decision, whether it’d be an acceptance or rejection. i think you’re being a bit too indecisive now (which is fine because most of us were like that) but go with your gut feeling! maybe it’s trying to tell you something because i went with what my gut feeling told me.
also, maybe tell your parents and what they think you should do? ask them what they would do in this situation if they were in your shoes.
so can an expedited decision negatively impact your application? or is it just requesting for a decision earlier? I applied in April for the Fall of 2020, which is very late, so I don’t know what my chances are. If i requested an expedited decision now, I don’t want it to negatively effect my chances because I applied later? I don’t know. What are some of your opinions?
