Waitlist UCF 2020

Kinda cruel isn’t it? May 31st?

yes, i do think it’s cruel. i think most of us are worried or saddened but we kinda have to just wait it out a little longer now.

Did they ANSWER your question that way, or are you just guessing?

I know it’s maddening, but you guys need to take a deep breath and step back.

If you are accepted to your 2nd choice school, YOU’RE FINE. You are set with a great choice.

If you get accepted by UCF, great – but where you go to college is not going to define who you are for the rest of your life. That person is already you.

If you are strong enough to get waitlisted at UCF, you are going to be FINE wherever you go to college.

By “they” above, I mean an OFFICIAL UCF person – NOT some random person posting on Twitter!

i asked “for the people who are still on the waitlist, did the april 15th date get removed and only a message containing the may 31st date is left on their myucf portal?”

ucf admissions responded with “the april 15th date passed and may 31st remains the final day to receive a waitlist decision, correct.”

So we Won’t revive an answer before then it’s going to be on may 31st?

UCF admissions just tweeted out… “Waitlist decisions were released yesterday. As space becomes available, those on the waitlist are evaluated. The final day to receive a decision from the waitlist is May 31st.”

so i just called admission to clarify and this is what they told me. they said we can hear about decisions from now until the 31st. it’s not like we have wait to to the 31st ti hear anything.

I hate answers like that, because they are technically correct, but they don’t tell people on the waitlist what they need to know.

I suggest that someone ask this question:

Will waitlist acceptances be communicated to applicants AS THEY OCCUR, or will ALL future waitlist decisions wait until May 31?

The reason that question is critical is that some of you have to make decisions on schools where you have already been accepted BEFORE May 31.

So if UCF is going to remain silent until May 31, you will need to decide whether to commit to another school and probably risk losing your deposit if you decide on May 31 to go to UCF.

Disregard my last post above – and see Ally0220 and cpala307’s posts just above.

ROLLING waitlist acceptance.

oh okay, so is this a bit different from how it was with the april 15th date? because for that one, we waited so long but hearing this is reassuring now. thanks!

I’m just curious, do you guys know anyone that got off the waitlist??? I would have thought at least a couple of us would have.

i thought all or a couple of us would get off as well. i don’t know anyone personally but i heard 2-3 people on twitter tweet about it. i am curious on how many they accepted for this first round of review though (especially going through some stats of past waitlists).

hi! I’ve been reading this thread for the past few days to help find some information on the waitlist for ucf.
Today I was moved off the waitlist!! They offered me admission into the Spring 2021 term, and I will need to complete no more than 11 credit hours at a local community college. Hopefully some of you will hear good news soon!

congratulations!!! if you don’t mind me asking what are your stats?

Congratulations Morgan!

I am honestly so stressed and my parents told me I have to commit to a school a week before May 1st so I’m probably just going to have to email ucf asking for an expedited decision. I will try to maybe convince them to let me put in a deposit for my second choice and wait till May 31st to see if I get into ucf but I don’t know if they will agree to it.

Honestly, I would CALL them.

Survive the 6 minute phone mail message (if they haven’t changed it) and then explain – in very respectful, polite language – the tough decision you have to make.

Let them know that you’d really like to go to UCF, but you have a deadline.

By them, I mean UCF Freshman Admissions.

Today I sent UCF an email asking them to expedite my decision. While I am wary they might reject me because my stats are not the strongest, I do not regret my decision. I have been stressing about UCF for over 6 months and I came to terms that my second choice (USF) is not that bad of an option. I know many of you are on the fence about asking for an expedited decision, but if you’ve been waiting for an extensive period of time like I have, I feel like hearing anything at this point is better than nothing.
