You guess 60. Why is that? It seems I'm still on this list they've got up there in Cambridge...

I'm just guessing. I know 40 people are typically z-listed, which means there are at least 40 people on it and I thought 20 more seems a reasonable number to retain.

So you're saying 40 are typically offered spots in the next year's class?

Yeah, forty and about twenty generally accept. That's the limit of my knowledge.

so you still haven't heard from them?

I haven't heard yes or no, though my admissions officer did email me today to thank me for updating them on my awards.

a kid at my school was recently taken off the waitlist, however in order to go he has to go with the class of 2011 and not 2010. so hes taking the year off to travel and stuff I geuss. If you're interested in his stats, I don't know him well enough to know SATs or anything but he was nationally ranked debater, won national tournament of champions, nationally ranked tennis player, valedictorian, debate team pres, math team captain. One thing though is that he repeated 9 th grade twice for some reason, perhaps because of a difference in academics, when he switched to our school.

Interesting. Looks like the z-list is starting up. I wonder if part of the reason for that was that the year setback would put him with kids his age...

well actually now he's going to be 2 years ahead of his class, because he "stayed back" in 9th grade. He had already completed grade 9 at another school, but did it again when he came to our school. So he's going to have stayed back twice by the time he starts his freshman year at harvard. it's a really odd case and everything, lol.

Ah, that's right. I must have been rejected off the waitlist because I can't do math...

DD got rejected from the WL. Got official letter on 6/12. Oh well.

I think everyone has at this point. If you still want to go, there's always transfer.

you got rejected Canaday?

Yes, I did. BFD (big effing deal). Like I said, there's always transfer, and it's not as though I was unqualified.

Canaday - who was your admissions officer?

lol calm calm canaday - i think maybe hotpiece was kind of surprised or something, she wasn't doubting your qualifications. and yes yes, there's always transfer

sorry about your rejection, Canaday. I was really pulling for you. I loved your optimism.

Hey, I haven't received anything yet. What the hell?

xjayz,

Sally Champagne was my admissions officer. And don't worry, I didn't think hotpiece was doubting my qualifications. I was just explaining why I think I could succeed in the transfer pool.

Sally was my admissions officer too! She is wonderful. Perhaps you should send her a note saying you'll apply next year as a transfer - that might help, I know she'll keep you in mind if you do. I had an inkling because I remembered her telling me that she covered parts of CA as well. Anyway, best of luck in the transfer admissions process next year!
