yea I live in NY and haven't heard anything. I don't think it's a good sign, but it's still strange. They said I'd hear by May 15th in my initial waitlist letter and it is now May, 21st??

i live in upstate ny, (i.e. the canadian border is an hr closer to me than nyc) and I heard may 17th. if you don't find out soon i'd call or e-mail them

Extended waitlist.....when will it ever end?

I just E-mailed the general guadmiss e-mail. If I don't get a confirmation of my rejection by tomorrow, I'll call them and that'll be that hopefully.

If you havn't heard by now, I would recommend doing what andre did - giving us a call or sending an e-mail to guadmiss. We can give you the e-mail address of your admissions officer, who should be able to help you.

any one heard back who's on the extended wait list?

no i haven't yet

but what do you think the chances really are of people getting off the extended waitlist?
anyone think they have an idea? anyone know how many people are left on it?

No I haven't heard back either. I think they will be reviewing and making decisions in the next several weeks though. I hope, they do make up their minds before the 30th of June though.

Does anyone know how large the extended waitlist is? Or if anyones been taken off it?

I'm still on & haven't heard a thing, I'm sorry to say.

ok so its been a while since we were all put on this extended waitlist. Has anyone heard anything about when/if/how many Georgetown is admitting?

My advice is to give them a call...

You won't believe the number of emails they get everyday and usually its some intern/student that checks and responds... so best to call and get a straight answer...

A friend was accepted yesterday off waitlist to the college. (by phone)

strawberrymom

I noticed that you had another friend accepted off of the Georgetown waitlist in early May. It's pretty amazing that you would know two people who got in off of the waitlist when you consider the number doing so is so small.

Was there anything that these two did to get off of the waitlist that stood out in your view?

I know someone who is still waiting.

I agree, and I'm 99.99% sure Georgetown doesn't admit by phone, mail only.

yeah something seems fishy about that

^^ They do for the waitlist

sure? Everyone I know on the waitlisted (accepted and denied) has received confirmation by mail. And that's also what several Georgetown admission reps have told me.

The two students I know initially received a phone call to see what their interest level was- followed by a phone call within a day or two offering admission. This might be unusual but this is the case with these 2 friends.

Yes- one was accepted weeks ago- she went down to GT, visited with some professors in the spring, requested letters of support from alum, and had additional support from school counselors. The second friend who was just accepted last week- not sure what they did...but had a lot of support again from college counselor.

Last week they accepted 10 off the list. They said there are 150 ppl on it and this week is the end...boo.
