So the University sent me an email telling me they do not have enough room at the moment as of April 12th. I chose to keep my name on the waitlist, but the next notification is on June 15th. If I am not mistaken, most colleges have you accept decision by may 1st so what exactly am I suppose to do? Call both colleges I am interested in and find answers?

What college inside of the U were you waitlisted again? Well, you should commit to your second choice by May 1st. Ask the admissions office of both the U and your second choice about what the next steps are for you to take.

Best of luck!

I think I was waitlisted for Business or Architecture. Unfortunately my computer with the application file died on me a little while ago so I am not 100% sure what I applied for. Are there general steps for these kinds of situations?

I had a friend who was waitlisted to the U of M with a notification sometime in June as well last year. He ended up committing to his second choice before the May deadline. — June came, and he was admitted off the U of M’s waitlist. He ended up going to the U, but I think he lost his enrollment deposit for his second choice.

You should call both schools to make sure. Right now, you need to have a second choice!

Oo I see. Losing enrollment deposit does not seem too bad. I will call both universities to make sure. Thanks a lot! Very helpful

Same thing happened to me last year. I got waitlisted (although I think I found out around february) and it said there’d be an “update” by June. I committed to a different school and then one day in May I got a random acceptance letter from the U of M. Cancelled enrollment at the other school and enrolled at the U as usual.

That’s pretty neat, Radicalcar. What was your second choice college? What college at the U did you ended up getting in to? Curious :)

Oo very interesting thanks Radical! The answers to kennys questions should be interesting as well :D

^ I committed to UT-Austin but I’m now a freshman in CLA. I had applied for CBS first choice and CLA second choice. I was straight up denied from CBS but waitlisted for CLA. Never sent any additional materials or anything.

wow, UT-Austin is a really good school. Surprised you were waitlisted. Well, now you’re here :)
