Housing!

I was recently accepted off the wait list and I got the letter April 29. My question is what are my chances of getting my first choice housing pick considering I applied so late? I feel like it's not possible.

congrats on getting off the waitlist! im not sure how it works with housing but im going to guess if the building you picked is one of the more popular ones then it is probably unlikely

just curious would you be willing to post your act and gpa stats and what sub school in the university you got in to so us other waitlistees know where we stand lol

Congrats on your admission! Yes, most admitted students have probably already applied for housing given how long the application has been available. So the most popular halls may not be available.

So, make sure your entire ranking is carefully considered so you end up in the best place for you that is available.

Still, anything is possible :)

Congrats! Yeah i’m sure there are fewer spots but you never know. Just focus on all your rankings not just your top 3 or 4.

Also anyone know when we get assignments?

^ohmy…According to the Housing website, dorm/roommate assignments come out July 31. I guess that allows for potentially meeting someone at orientation that you might be interested in rooming with and still allowing time to update both housing applications.

Okay thanks!

Wolverine - that is a great point! I am going to have my son scout around for potential roommates during his orientation. I think it would be better than random…or not!

kajon…CBS students also have the additional 4 day-3 night Nature of Life orientation at Lake Itasca in July to meet some additional people as well. Not the primary purpose for the event, but you never know!!

Other important dates for folks to remember…today is the last day to guarantee a spot in Housing by making your $25 Housing deposit. Additionally, May 15th is the last date to get your additional $225 payment in order to get your Housing assignment. Not sure how all these dates apply to folks just getting notified now from the waitlist, but for previously accepted folks…heads up!!
