waitlisted chances

so what are the chances of getting off the waitlist?

my friend got waitlisted and i wna know if she'll end up getting in or not.

thanks.

They just accepted 160 people off the waitlist a few weeks ago. If your friend wasn't part of that group I'd say her chances are pretty low.

did you end up getting off the waitlist?

yeah i was part of that large group

ohh, congrats! what were your stats? and are you instate/out of state?

so 160 kids got off the waitlist? do you know out of how many?

i was really torn between UW and BU, but i ended up choosing BU. i'm just trying to help my friend figure out where she's gna end up next year cause it's UW or comm college in new york... and she said that UW doesnt finalize an answer til june/july-ish which is pretty late.

she lives overseas so the time diff and everything makes it hard for her to contact teh school and get all the information possible.

thanks for the info so far :)

thanks =)
i had a 3.85 gpa and 1770 sat + in-state

I know they excepted 160 off but I'm not sure how many were put on the waitlist in the first place.

yeah in the first letter i got they told me they wouldn't let me know until june/july, so i was suprised they excepted that group off the waitlist so soon.

I'm assuming this big group of 160 was to make up for those who had been accepted but had decided to not go to UW. So I think the ones who will be accepted off the waitlist in the future will be in place for those in the big group of 160 who turn down their acceptance (I'm assuming a fairly small number).

let me know if that made sense =)

ashley0389 would you mind telling me your ECs.

thanks.

Pei, I'm applying in the fall and BU and UW are my top two choices.
Were you accepted to both? Do you think you can tell me what your stats were and where you're from? I would really really appreciate it. :)

My EC's were :

Vice Pres. Honor Society
100+ hours volunteering/honor society work
7 years martial arts
6 years theatre

Wow, Ashley, I'm surprised you didn't get in the first time around. Did you apply late?

yeah, how did you get waitlisted?

oh thanks!

no I didn't apply late, I figured the main reason I was passed over the first time around was my average SAT's, but who knows =)

^That can't be it. I had a lower GPA than you did (3.67), but I had the same SAT score you did. I'll never understand the admission process. I wish they could tell us why they did/didn't accept people.
