waitlisted at ILR…really hope I get in. good luck to the rest of you

That’s surprising, isnt this the first time in like 4 years someone got off the waitlist?

Just got a call from College of Arts and Sciences. I was accepted :)

Congrats VoidVortex!! do u live in the US pr are u international. U said u just got a call. It is 10pm in New York now - so am just wondering if the guys at admissions are working so late on a Sunday.

BalletPI congrats!! Are u based in the US or are u international. Can u tell us who sent you the email? Is it from a specific admissions officer or from the general CAS admissions mailbox. Thanks!

Cornell accepted over 400 fewer applicants for the Class of 2016 than for any of the prior 7 classes [2009-2015].

How many people did they accept off the waitlist this year?

@RDadPop I am from California. They actually didn’t send me an email. A specific admissions officer( I think director…) called me about an hour ago :D.

Thanks! I’m based in the US and my email was from a specific admissions officer.

Here’s a copy of the email I received:

Dear _________,

I am writing you with good news. On behalf of the College of Arts & Sciences at Cornell University, I invite you to join the Class of 2016. We are delighted to offer you a place in our college.

If you are still interested in Cornell, please let me know as soon as possible but no later than the end of the day tomorrow, Monday, May 14th. Please know that your interest does not commit you to attend Cornell. Instead, if you are interested, we will send you a letter of acceptance and a financial aid package (if you applied for financial aid). Then, you will have several days to discuss your acceptance with your family before deciding whether or not to reserve your spot in the Class of 2016.

Please let me know. Feel free to ask any questions via e-mail or by calling my office on Monday between 9-4. My number is 607-255-5004.

Congratulations!

Many thanks for the info, BalletPI and VoidVortex!!

I’m an international looking for financial aid so my chances are slim, but these posts are at least making me realize that being waitlisted isn’t necessarily a fatal knell of rejection. Congrats to all those who got off :)

Will they take more waitlisted people?
R those who admitted from waitlist all for College of Art and Science?

How about other colleges? did you guys hear anything yet??
