@gibby Thank you very much.
Thank you for your thorough response (as usual) gibby!
Rejected, but Congratulations to everyone that made it!!!
@huayeye Sorry to hear that. May I ask when you got the rejection? Was it yesterday May 21st? Thank you!
I just called admissions. They said that nothing is being sent out this week, and the admissions committee will be meeting sometime next week to decide on the next wave.
@vikingguy Thanks for the update! It’s helpful to hear because I am doing the best I can to try to put this out of my mind. Knowing I can wait a week is helpful. Good luck to you!
I got my rejection on the first wave. Just mentioned it late on here, ahah. Good luck!
Just curious, what college did you withdraw from Cornell? @Harvard2022mom
@lenasharb C of A & S
@Harvard2022mom I was wait listed there :))
Congrats to your daughter! Did she withdraw this week?
@lenasharb She called and emailed to withdraw last Wednesday. GOOD LUCK to you!!!
How wise would it be to upload an update on the portal about an award I just received from my school’s history department? Would this be seen as irritating or could it potentially help my chances? All I’ve sent in otherwise is my LOCI. Thanks.
I was just named valedictorian and uploaded it. I just used about 10 words. I figured why not at this point. Who knows if they even read them. Like you, all I had was a mid-April LOCI so I don’t think it’s overdoing it. Good luck to you. I wonder how many are still on wait list and if they will do z list offers for any of us.
Don’t all of you folks already have other great options? Anyone sitting on the Harvard waitlist must certainly already be registered somewhere else? My best advice, move on. Unless you are a legacy with deep roots and understanding of what the Harvard experience REALLY is, I sense this is an ill-conceived obsession that will only end in disappointment. Harvard has a great name and history, but it’s not for everyone.
Anyone know when the next wave comes out?
Maybe today or tomorrow?
@Chalupa911, could you elaborate on the '‘Harvard experience’ you mention? Sounds rather sinister.
Has anyone called the Harvard Admissions Office this week? I was wondering if it would be a good idea to call them or just wait?
My guess is that calls go out before 5 p.m. So if no one hears by then, the second wave was probably not released today. Maybe tomorrow?
Not sinister in the least. Harvard is ultra-competitive and not a particularly fun place. For certain people, it’s great. For others, I’m sure it’s an horrific experience. In a dog eat dog environment, some dogs get fat. Others get eaten.
