That is awesome!!! @collegecrazy2017
Thanks ā still kind of stunned!
Rejected off the waitlist finallyā¦looks like Iāll be heading to Brown! Harvard was always my favorite school; I loved the campus, the environment, and the students so much.
Who is still here? I wonder how many people are left on list and if we hear next week. I am not expecting good news of course. I just wonder when we hear.
@MomLA2018 I wasnāt rejected
Seems like in the past this process gets resolved by mid June at the latest. Daughter said three z lister classmates heard around June 7-10 time period in prior years. Probably WL closed this week?
Around how many people could be left on the waitlist at this point? 100? 150? or more?
@taylorharry I have no idea how many people are left on the WL but this sounds like a good guess to me. Iād say around a 100. Just a guess. Iād be surprised if there are still WL offers coming for this year but weāll see! Good luck everyone.
Still havenāt been rejected or accepted. Iām happy to be still in the running but Iād like some closure.
@hopefulstudent22 I can very much relate. At this point, closure would be great. I keep thinking this is the week and then another week rolls by without an answer. Pretty rough.
I think there are 5 or 6 of us still here. I wonder what that means about the overall size of the wait list at this point. Also, do any of you know how many kids are typically offered z-list spots?
Iām curious how many people are actually so determined to attend Harvard that they are willing to take an unplanned gap year rather than take their āsecond choiceā? I would guess that most people on a Harvard waitlist have other great alternatives for Class of ā22.
@Chalupa911 āwhen someone offers you a seat on a rocket ship you donāt ask when it leaves, you just get on!ā And as someone else put it: In 10 years from now, nobody will remember whether you took a gap year but everyone will remember that you went to Harvard.
Also lots of us have exciting interests. If I had a year, I could continue my summer job and learn an enormous amount. I donāt expect good news but after almost 8 months it is worth waiting.
There are lots of rocket ships and they are all leaving for exciting placesā¦everyone will find their special destination.
Not arguing the value of a gap year AT ALL, but the best gap years are by design rather than mandate. My point was that ANYONE still on the waitlist, is obviously very accomplished and has ALREADY been given a ticket to another ārocket shipā. I have 4 kidsā¦2 graduated from Harvard, 1 from Vandy and the other from Claremont McKenna. All different, but each one very happy and successful. Youngest daughter still hoping for Harvard, but happy with other option.
@Chalupa911 if you have ā4 kidsā¦2 graduated from Harvard, 1 from Vandy and the other from Claremont McKenna. All different, but each one very happy and successful. Youngest daughter still hoping for Harvard, but happy with other option.ā
If I do the math, that is 5 kids???
Yes @LvMyKids2 , you can add. Now youāre qualified to attend Harvard too!
@Chalupa911 ha ha.
Another week is upon usā¦ sitting and waiting. Very exciting. Canāt wait for this to be over.
