Waitlisted. Is it okay if I

I was waitlisted at Brown, Middlebury, Swarthmore, and Pitzer (all my top choices, minus Pitzer). I was thinking of sending additional recommendations from two of my senior year teachers, a writing portfolio that covers my four years in high school, and a lighthearted video pastiche of 15-20 second clips of my friends sharing quirky, personal memories of me. Of course, each school will also get a letter detailing continued (and intensified!) interest, new achievements, etc.

Is that too much? I don’t think I’ll send the recs to Brown because they specifically stated that they don’t want them in their Waitlist Q&A, but I don’t want to overwhelm ANYONE with too much junk. At the same time… I so, so, SO want to provide them with anything and anything that might be persuasive!

I honestly have no idea. It’s really a gamble, as no one really knowns. I’m considering just sending a letter containing new achievements and a few words expressing my continued interest.

Bens168 has the right idea. I simple letter or two will suffice.

With the waitlist, there’s no telling what’s enough, and what will boost you vs. someone else. I don’t think what you’re planning is too over the top, but I’m no admissions officer, and I don’t have to sort through all these things.

A friend I know who got off Duke’s waitlist sent them a witty, one-page comic, explaining her continued interest.

hm actually I did some research on what to do when waitlisted, found out that some schools find out what you did to your other waitlists and they just dont want to take you. you might with to concentrate on 1st choice. but then again as chsolflax17 said, im no admissions officer. good luck though.
