I got a letter in the mail saying that I was waitlisted. Not a big surprise to me though. UMich competition was intense this year.

I was originally deferred with the letter that did NOT ask for 7th semester grades.

ACT: 27
GPA: 3.6
White Female
Large competitive public high school in Virginia.

I'm not sure if I should stick with UMich and hope to get a spot or if I should just let it go. No one was accepted from the waitlist last year so I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket.

Actually, numbers-wise, you were pretty lucky to get a spot on the waitlist. GPA and ACT are below average....

What other schools are you looking at? There's no harm in staying on the waitlist (I know a few people a few years ago who were admitted off of it). Also, consider this: In 2007, Wisconsin admitted 0 people from their waitlist; In 2008, they admitted 600. You never know!

Gnsdraw: There is nothing on my WA. It looks exactly the same. No email notification. Just a letter in the mail.

Hoedown: I applied to LSA early action and was deferred in December.

Vc08: I know! I was very surprised. I've gotten into a couple other schools. Michigan State, James Madison, Penn State, Clemson & Indiana. UMich was my number one. I think it'll just take some more thinking! I hate decision making :(
