Just heard...my daughter got into the GSP Program off the NYU waitlist. SHE'S VERY excited. WHEWWWWW! Still waiting to also hear from Richmond U, but NYU is a great option!

Yes, she really liked Richmond U when she visited there, but has always loved NYC: arguably the best city in the world. They are VERY different places and very different schools.
Any thoughts on the choice?

Yes, she did much more than just send back the card. Late in April she followed up with a letter of continuing interest, and had her latest (improved) grades for the most recent semester sent to the WL schools. When we saw back on April 1 that she was on all WLs, she and her guidance couselor went back to her teachers for extra credit assignments to help BOOST those latest grades. Also, her school guidance counseler did a lot of work following up with the WL schools finding out what was the reason why she was not accepted outright, so that she could respond to those points in her follow up letter in late April.
ALSO, she applied to two schools (Clemson and AUP) that had rolling admissions, and was accepted to both of those before the end of April. So even if she didn't get off any waitlist, she was definitely going to college.
Basically, April was an all-out campaign by my D and everyone on her team to boost her over the top. It worked!

Johns Hopkins is not admitting anyone from its waitlist. Despite the increase in its projected class size, JHU admitted way too many RD applicants (and received a higher yield this past month than expected).
