title says it all.

you wait…

couldn’t be clearer :o

same position

Well this blows. Might as well tell my other schools to chuck their letters right in the garbage, because its pretty obvious I’m in for a clean sweep.

sigh…
I got waitlisted tooooo sadface

yaa waitlisted. kinda torture that the waiting still isnt over now.

Makes me mad > : (
I don’t understand why I’ve been wait listed. I’d love for UVA to give me a reason. I’m instate and I clearly meet and exceed the criteria.

me too waitlisted, now i’m just waiting for my last decision: Notre Dame :)

hey guys: my daughter’s classmate was accepted off the waitlist in June last year; they called their house to let the student know. It IS possible.

If you know someone connected to UVA who can intervene, then it probably does not hurt to see if they can help you.(I mean, someone who knows you, of course. Don’t call a Senator or Congressman who has no clue who you or your family are. That would be hardly fair.)

However, make sure you deposit somewhere. If UVA accepts you in June, then you can make adjustments.

So, they do take people off the waitlist? Good to know.

I’m here too. I couldn’t be more upset.

Ecclesiastes 9:11
I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.

Deep breaths from all of you all.

My son knew 5 people from different local high schools who came off the wait list in 2010.

@theman44

I’m honestly not surprised you were wait listed, your attitude on my thread was repulsive.

This is just one of your many ignorant comments , “Bigshot your theory is so wrong its ridiculous… If Dean J said they would notify us 5-6 days before they would release if they decided to release early, then how could it be 4 days? And if you are going to say that after these 4 days we can start again, we might as well just say TOMORROW! every single day… So lets assume its April 1 for now”

@ The Rest of you that are wait listed!

I wish the rest of you the best of luck and I am sure you will all get in. Best Wishes to you guys, remember try and contact an admissions officer and build a “relationship” and send a letter of interest and any new accomplishments.

cry and eat a pint of ice cream… I would of rather been rejected o well, and so the college process continues…

@idreamofUVA Cheer up bud. Trust me the process is never over anyway. I hope you get accepted later on.

PS can someone post the rejection/waitlist first line response in the letter?

i’m on the same boat as you guys
theres hope, still

hypothetically, if a waitlisted student is accepted in say, Late May/early June, does he/she get housing guaranteed? and the student also gets to live with freshman right? Essentially are there any drawbacks of accepting a spot in UVA’s class around this time?

If UVA calls in June to offer admission, you’re not obligated to accept right?

No, you’re not.

the RAD: I know for a fact that at least 3 of the 5 students my son knows who got off the WL, did get regular freshman housing. I never specifically asked him about the other 2 students who got off the WL and chose UVA.
