I'm planning on sending Wash U's admission office a package with a senior year teacher rec (or maybe two?), a rec from the doctor I am interning with, and a personal letter reiterating my interest in Wash U. I was wondering if this is a good idea or if it will make me seem desperate/annoying. I'm sure it's the latter to all of you, but I want to know what the college will think. Thank you guys!

I would probably just send 1 more teacher rec, because I think 3 new recs would cross the line to somewhat annoying. Actually, I think it’s probably what you want to be doing to try and see if you can get lucky and make your way off the waitlist. Good Luck!

Sirensong are you a current student? I would also like to get off the waitlist or transfer in January 2011. Any tips to share? I’m going to try and volunteer/work at the med school this summer plus maybe take a summer course. I can get another rec and send a cover letter too explaining the plans. Would that help?

CollegeIsDumb - Another rec from a senior year teacher along with the doctor you mentioned is a very good idea. Just make sure that both are very strong recs and possibly cover some aspects of your resume that previous recs either did not cover or were weak on. Just remember the old admissions saying " It is not enough that you walk on water, it is preferable that you invented water". I am sure you get the gist of the statement. Good luck.
