<p>I have been wait listed in a chemistry class which is required for my major. I am supposed to be #2. Does that mean I am second in line , so two students would have to drop? What are my chances of getting into the class. I will be a sophomore at a California University. Can anyone give me any ideas or pointers please????</p>
<p>Since probably few actual students at your school who might have a clue are currently viewing this forum (it’s meant for HS students wanting advice on getting in to colleges), ought you not spend your energy calling your professor or someone in the Chem dept?</p>
<p>If you’re #2, then yes, you’re probably right- two need to drop. </p>
<p>People add/drop classes all the time before the semester starts at most schools, and even after that until the add/drop period ends (usually a few weeks in). There’s a good chance you’ll get in. </p>
<p>You should contact the professor though. They can often fit you into their class, particularly if it’s part of your major.</p>
