a friend got his rejection letter yesterday.... so they DID send them out as well. no one has wanted to post their rejection on this site yet. they werent sent separately, as some speculated.

The letter said that they generally take around 20% of the kids from the list.

20 percent (if that is what it said on the letter) is not very high. One of the girls on my hall got off the waitlist and she told me that the admissions officers had told her normally 10-15 ppl get off the list. I'm assuming wake must not have many ppl on their waitlist then....
This of course is just what I heard from a student and is not coming from admissions or anything.

I heard from a Wake freshman today that she was put on the wait list and only returned her card... she didn't even send in work or do an interview.

I was waitlisted today as well. I guess I'll put my name on there, but it looks like I'll be at UNC.

waitlisted? then join the facebook group

willmington, picking UNC over WFU would be a very logical choice for many North Carolinans because of the price tag. Personally, I think the smaller college environment is better for everyone, but still, price matters. It's like picking UVA/W&M over Richmond in Virginia or picking Cal/UCLA over USC in California.

I also think that public universities are underrated in the rankings. Berkeley should be higher than where they are and same with Michigan. UVA too.

wmalum2006- why are you bringing up W&M and public university rankings to willmingtonwave? Stop being a troublemaker. :)

What was the latest day y'all said you would accept an offer? I think the choices were like May 15th, June 1, July 1, and August 1.

I think that the earliest that Wake would let waitlisters know is late April.

Im on the waitlist but i just wanted to know...what is too much? im sending a letter and calling but should i do more? more calls, letters, both? help!

well, i dont want to become a nuisance.

I was placed on the waitlist as well... has anyone gotten off yet? I know its still a bit early but Im curious if anyone has gotten word. Also does anyone have any idea how many kids are on the active waitlist or any idea how hard it will be to get accepted off it.

Thanks

hey ahduke, i thought u got in Vanderbilt? Why not go check it out there, I mean that school has the exact same colors as Wake. Don't understand why you got wait listed...sigh..if only the admissions office could see this site and make them know that there is a guy called ahduke who REALLY wants to got to Wake. Why not just transfer after first year?
