Just got waitlisted. Really surprised. Anyone else in the same boat?

yeah, me too! my GC said it was like a high target/low reach, and to be honest I thought I had a good shot.
I think it's because I showed zero interest in the school, didn't visit or do an interview, plus they have ED I and ED II and I still did RD...plus I asked for FA but still. I know bucknell has a limited amount of spots but I wish they would have accepted me. being waitlisted sucks

Waitlisted and so upset, got into Nova, Lehigh etc. and really wanted Bucknell. It's going to take a while to get over this one.

Same. I got waitlisted by a bunch of schools (Tufts, Vandy, Bucknell, Wake)...I can see why though, my SATs and GPA don't match up at all, I've been at 3 different schools in the last 3 years, some very strange family circumstances, etc.

Not much you can do for Bucknell, right? I was expecting to get in, but oh well.

if your waitlisted, how much of a chance would i have of being accepted? i feel like being waitlisted isn't so bad..what do you guys think?

For the class of 2010:

"The admissions committee deferred 120 students for later consideration; 38 of these students were subsequently offered admission."

For the class of 2011:

"The admissions committee deferred 135 students for later consideration; 14 of these students were subsequently offered admission."

As you can see, they let less people in the second time (2010 vs. 2011).

Good luck, nonetheless.

satn, those numbers are for early decision deferrals.

ironically, though, bucknell ultimately admitted 14 students from over 1000 accepting a spot on its wait list last year.

however, if yield is not as high as anticipated, that number could easily grow into the 40s.

thanks for the correction.

hey eric, do you mind sharing where you got the waitlist numbers from last year?
