so i’m 15th-ish on both sta13 and mat16a. anyone know my chances on getting into these classes? i mean do teachers sometimes, let more people in then stated?

You're perfectly fine. I'm sure they're not going to mind letting in 10 more people or 15. I think if it gets to like 60 more people, then they might have an issue! lol.

You still have a few weeks til class starts and people are still going to be fiddling around with their schedules (i.e. dropping) so there's a good chance that you'll probably get in but maybe you chose a particular discussion section time that everyone wants...

but if all the other sta13 classes are filled with many waitlisted students, they'll probably give PTAs to some people, usually to the amount in which everyone has a seat in the classroom.

if you really want to get into that class, just keep going for the first few class sessions and if you're making progress (moving up on the waitlist) then you'll probably get in. Many if not nearly all people will show up on the first day and not drop the class (depends what type of class it is) but soon only half or even less will continue to go to class...so you'll just have to play it by ear.

oh okay cool. uhm, if by some chance i don't get into either classes, will there be another time to just sign up for some random ge class or something just to fill in the gap?

as of yesterday (saturday), it is open registration, so you can add and drop whatever classes you want until the last day to add/drop classes and the last day to waitlist for classes..
