<p>Im pretty angry, ive been wait listed at UCSB and American… Anybody know what this means? If I accepet the waitlist, then can I not enroll in another school? What happens next for me??</p>

<p>Sorry for your uncertainty. Hopefully, you will get a definitive answer from one of your colleges.</p>
<p>1) If accepted to a college of your choice that you want to go to, you should pay a deposit on that definite college for yourself.</p>
<p>2) In the meantime, you should let AU and UCSB know you are still interested in attending the school, if given the option. (Also, if you are in fact interested in being waitlisted.)</p>
<p>3) If you find out later (probably after May 1) that you have gotten in the school where you have been waitlisted, you then have a choice of accepting the waitlisted school. However, you will have to forfeit your deposit for the other school and notify them of the withdrawal of your acceptance. The strong negative about this is that you are not necessarily gauranteed adequate financial aid (if applied for) since the school will only give you what they have left over after the students already accepted have been awarded their FA packages.</p>
<p>So, not the best situation. But you might still have a chance and if the schools are high on your list, it might be worth it for you, bearing in mind that FA will not be guaranteed for you as a later admit.</p>
