I was waitlisted, too. Does anyone know if the waitlist is binding?

The waitlist is not binding. If you are accepted off the waitlist, you are given a few days to decide to accept the position or not (or so I have heard).

My daughter was waitlisted by Wellesley last year. They called her on a Monday afternoon and offered her a spot. She received her financial aid package via email on Wednesday morning. She had until Thursday to decide. So you have a choice, and you will have your financial aid information to make the decision.

Ok. Thank you! So you could accept a place on another waitlist just in case?

It probably depends on each school’s rules, but my daughter was waitlisted by two schools and chose to remain on both waitlists. She did get admitted to Wellesley off their list and is a happy first-year student there now.

I am under the impression that you can accept places on as many waitlists as you have the option to. Since none of the schools that waitlisted you have a guarantee of a spot, you are only committing to the school that you send in your deposit to. If you choose to accept a spot off the waitlist come June/July, then you give up your deposit at your original school.

i’m staying on the waitlist! really doubtful i’ll get in from it though, my stats are on the lower end.
