Hey guys. So im an international student and it might take me a while to actually get my mailed decision.

Recently, on the 13th of May, a new requirement came up in the financial aid part of my online account. This requirement came up before as well, and is not supposed to be there since it is waived for me. Anyways, I called the financial aid office and they said that yeah you’re right you dont need to fulfill it.

Of course I am really anxious about this, just as all of us are. How should I view this?

Since only 20 people made it off the waitlist (and they were only offered spots for the class of 2015), I would not find the response encouraging. If I had to guess, I would think the financial aid officer knew you didn’t need it (at best you would need it next year) but didn’t want to give you any bad news over the phone.

haha i understand the odds, of course. but this is a document that i do not need.
simply put, it is a document required for international students, but i come under a different category, a category of people who do not require this specific document.

From my understanding there really are no “odds” left for the class of 2014 waitlist. All but 20 people were outright rejected and those 20 were only offered a spot in the class of 2015 after a forced gap year.

I have decided to take the forced gap year and join Brown as part of the Class of 2015!

Good for you guitarclassical.
Use the next 15 months well.
Many people say the gap year is a wonderful thing if used wisely.
