Wake Forest Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

When I go into my applicant portal, all I have is the letter showing the acceptance…how do u get to the FA section?

It just shows as an update. There is no FA section.

Ah my last update was March 26 (day of the decision)…maybe they are updating it in waves? I’m on the west coast so maybe thats it. Where are you located?

East coast :man_shrugging:

Ah so that could be it. I may end up calling/emailing of it doesn’t come in the next few days

East Coast. Got update a couple days after acceptance in Dec and an update yesterday.

I’m in the same situation in the mid west. If you call will you update the forum for me?

yeah for sure…I think they are out of the office since its 5:20 eastern time so I will try tomorrow

hi guys i called the financial aid office bc i also did not apply for aid and had no status update. turns out if you didnt get merit aid and didnt apply for financial aid you just dont get an update. seems a tiny bit weird that there’s no official document with the cumulative cost of everything but i guess thats just how it works.

Cost of attendance is broken down right on their website.

yup i get that now! just wanted to let other ppl who were wondering the same thing know.

Wonder why we got one without merit or need-based aid. You’d think they’d send it out to everyone so that you know if you got merit and what the COA is. It is not what is listed on the Wake Forest page since they have not yet updated the numbers for 21-22. Hint: it’s more.

oh huh you did get one? so weird!

I know they showed the estimated COA for 21-22 and it said it would finalized in March. Think tuition went up 2K but not positive.

This was on the letter:
Tuition and fees $59,748
Housing and Meals $16,140
Books and supplies $1,500
Transportation $948
Personal Expenses $1,614
Estimated Cost of Attendance $79,950/ yr

So the merit was included in the financial aid package they sent? I was somewhat hopeful that they haven’t given merit scholarships yet since no one here claimed to have gotten any.

Yes. Merit would have been listed on the second page of the PDF. WF does not award merit aid often.

Merit-based awards were released on Monday and would have been included in a recent notification by the Financial Aid office. They are extremely competitive at Wake Forest with only 2% of the applicant pool receiving such an offer.

Ok thanks for your reply.

Merit at Wake Forest goes to a VERY small group of kids (supposedly 3% of the admitted pool). S is a senior and one of his friends was fortunate enough to get a good chunk of tuition covered. Understand the admitted pool is a highly successful group of students (over 75% in the top 10% of their HS class). Don’t plan on any merit aid.

However, their need based aid is very strong and we have found the calculator on their site to be quite accurate. We were full pay for three yrs but got some need based aid this yr due to having a second kid in college. Based on the amount, we should have had twins!
