Want to drop AP Stats? Should I?

I got a B first semester of AP stats. Honestly, I don't know how i even managed to do that. I never payed attention in class, did homework, or really understood the material. Now, I'm starting to fall behind and don't feel like catching up. Statistics has absolutely NO appeal to me. I go to that class and zone out/sleep for an hour and I REALLY don't want to take it another semester.
I want to drop this class but my counselor is giving me ***** saying it'll destroy my chances of getting into any college. The only schools I applied to are UC's such as Berkley, LA, SD, SB, and Irvine. I got an A in calculus AB so I should have finished the required math. I work around 20-25 hours a week, most of it during the school week so I struggle to finish my work and dropping stats would take a huge load off my shoulders. My UC GPA is a crappy 3.7 but I got a 2200 on my SAT's. Bad I know, so my main target schools are UCSD and UC Irvine. Getting into berkley or LA is just wishful thinking. My other classes are H. Physics, English 12, Auto Shop, and AP econ. If I drop Stats i might take cooking or some other easy class if I don't have enough credits.

Long story short, will dropping AP Stats hurt my chances of getting into UC's if I already submitted my application and finished first semester?

Can ANYONE help me? I’m asking my mom to go talk with my counselor to get it dropped tomorrow but I don’t wanna ruin my chances of getting into the schools

First of all…how are you acing (well, getting an A) Calc but getting a B in stats? Sounds like the opposite of my school. I’m in AP stats and it’s the easiest class in my schedule. Mind you I have an extremely tough schedule (AP Stats, Spanish, Psychology, Honors English, CP Physics), and stats is amazingly easy. If I took Calc at my school I would most likely fail, so I don’t know how you do so well in calc…props to you sir
Anyhoo, if you’re taking Calc, I don’t think dropping AP Stats will hurt you. Calc is much more impressive than stats. So I’d say switch out if it’s giving you trouble

Well it’s not that I struggle understanding Stats, it’s just that it’s unbelievably uninteresting. I can’t ever pay attention in class because of how boring it is so I’m falling behind and will probably continue to fall behind. Honestly I could catch up and finish with a B or an A but that would require that I do nothing but work and homework for the rest of the year; something i don’t want to do my senior year. I just want to drop stats so I could have more time to have fun and maybe focus on other classes that interest me more.

And I took Calc my junior year, not this year. I got a 5 on the ap test and it was just a breeze for me because it interested me. Maybe it’s just because my calc teacher could’ve became a friggen comedian and my stats teacher is monotone and just lectures forever.

I have ADD so I have to try REALLY hard to do well in a class that bores the **** out of me

Haha your experience sounds the opposite of mine, except I also have ADHD. My stats teacher is hilarious haha oh man. One time he was teaching us about finding standard deviation or whatnot and he turns to some kid in my class and he points to the sigma symbol and he’s like “now what’s that, Harry? Huh? Greek lettering - frat party? NO IT’S NOT A FRAT PARTY” hahaha he’s always yelling at the top of his lungs

hey so were u able to drop the class and not be in danger? the same thing is happening with me in ap calc, only the teacher is telling me to drop it so i don’t get a d or f in the class. i got a b last semester and now i’m worried that if i drop it i’ll get my acceptances revoked
