Looking forward to meeting everyone!Have a safe trip!

We should be arriving on campus for the 12th as well.

daughter Kari informs me that there is a movie showing of " Alice in Wonderland" at 8:30 pm that evening . . . .so everyone, let’s meet a little earlier at 6:15 pm instead of 7 pm. and Montegut, we’ll know you might be a little late.

Good idea. I just heard about it today and was wondering if we’d be able to make both.

I know everyone is doing final packing and some may have already left - so wishing you all safe travels, the best move-in, enjoyable “final” days with your awesome kids, and see you back here to start our next chapter! :)

Thanks for the heads up on the movie. We should be able to be there early!

I saw the info on the movie SOMEWHERE…but I don’t know where??? Where is the movie showing? Don’t want DS to miss! Thanks

Well, it looks as though my travel plans have changed- I’ll be driving down along with my family this Monday and likely moving in Tuesday morning. I can still meet up with anyone who’ll be on campus later that week & beyond, however.

DS and DH took the address of Full Moon BBQ, coincidentally they were thinking of eating there Sat night so if you see them over the way give 'em a holler! I’m sure TheStudent and her son will recognize DS from out meetup at BamaBound, he has a rather distinctive look :)

Be prepared for Southern hospitality when you get to Ttown. No doubt even non CCer’s will come over and join y’all, as we’re all in this together!

just called Full Moon. they wont take reservations until about an hour before…so I will call around 5 pm tomorrow night and they will set tables aside.

Got into bham last night…1/2 hour delay landing bc of lightening, and then another 90 minute delay getting our luggage again bc of lightening (luggage handlers couldnt get luggage with lightening that close). BUt, got a full size car instead of the economy we ordered for no extra charge, ate late dinner at Cracker barrell – and now in Atlanta going to Ikea and the braves game…so all is good. See ya’ll tommorow.

^^^Great minds must think alike, lol. We ate at Cracker Barrel too last night. :)

malanai
I texted you but not sure you got it…562.965.3666 is my cell phone number if anybody needs it

The car is loaded, sans our duffles with the weekend’s clothes. And, it is beginning to storm. We’ve got a turtle topper. Hope it holds up.

Looking forward to seeing everybody tomorrow. We’ll head over after Mass at 530 at Holy Spirit. Not planning to attend the movie. Will be three of us, and may bring best friend and his parents, too, if we meet up with them at Mass.

Safe travels everybody, and a successful first year at Bama!

Had the pleasure last night of meeting mom of four, socal2bama, bamafama, the student, timeflew, bbfromnc, knittingmom, MikeWozowski, their spouses, their great kids (including kraziespaghetti), and robotbld’s son. So nice to put faces and voices to the names. Son moves into his dorm in 2 hours and is thoroughly stoked, having made friends already. Thank you all on this forum for your tremendous support and information. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Roll Tide!

It was so great to meet socal, mom and krazie, and the student, and their wonderful kids and spouses. Here we were, a Southern family, meeting a group of Californians in Alabama, of all places.

We enjoyed so much meeting y’all, and my son hit it off with your kids right away.

Hope this is the beginning of some great friendships, for both the kids and the parents.

Ditto for my family! We enjoyed the dinner and meeting some of our CC friends. Good luck to everyone! ROLL TIDE!

Just got back to so Cal. Had a great time last night meeting y’all (got to practice) and I know it was nice for DS to see a familiar face at move-in today (Montegut’s son is in same dorm) and seeing names on the listing for AA of those he’s already met. It made leaving him a little easier (as much as a mom can do that). Wow can’t believe all this happened in just a couple of days. Best to all and hoping to someday meet more of you in person.

Glad y’all got to meet. DH, myself and both girls went to Full Moon yesterday afternoon during a break in the moving in process & I was wondering how you’re dinner went. BTW, the chocolate pie was divine!
