I have what may be a ridiculous question:
What shoes do I buy? It's silly, but I've lived in Fl for almost 16 years. I have flip flops and pumps to match every outfit I have...and even some I don't have (what do green plaid flip-flops match exactly?). What do people wear as the weather gets colder?

get some tims yo!

tims are...timberlands?

lol yep. thats some northeastern lingo, dont mind it. when i went up there they suggested to get at least one pair of boots as in tims or snow boots. you should bring a few of your flip-flops and shoes just bc and then sneakers too. im not sure if this is it, but this is what im bringing, at least as far as footwear goes.

tims is not northeastern lingo.

yes definitely bring boots or you can always buy them when you get to 'cuse. since it gets pretty cold starting october stock up on those hoodies!

Seems like all the "cool" chicks here wear Ugg boots lol I think they're kinda funny looking though. Guys wear Tims, and some girls wear the girl Tims. There'e a store on the campus called J. Michaels that specializes in winter wear like North Face coats and boots.

Uggs are stupid. If you buy em or wear em, you need to be shot.

Me, I find a pair of sneakers works fine. Unless you plan on jumping around in the snow, you don't need much else. They clear the snow very very quickly, so that isn't an issue. You would be best not to wear designer shoes / boots in winter, because the salt will eat them up. I suppose you should get a pair of decent boots - anything around $40 is plenty good enough. Yeah it may get cold, but with a thick pair of socks your feet never will be.

Best bet is to get that stuff at home, or at the mall (at home or in Syracuse). The Marshall St. boutiques are very much over-priced, particularly J. Michael

Where whatever you want. You'll get used to the weather.

***? there's SALT in the SNOW? eh?! And what kind of material does it eat at? I have a pair of smooth (ooo i like to feel it) leather boots that i wore through the mud of Costa Rica. Wil lthey be OK? Silk will, i suppose.

Salt to melt snow & ice.

holy. who knew?!

lol its so weird for me to think that people wouldnt know that bc idk ive practically known my entire life. obviously it has to with where im from but i just find it funny. dont worry soon enough youll be a pro on snow-removal, ;).

Cmon faleene, i'm from Florida and I knew that! :)

hahaha yeah i can't wait to experience the trials and tribulations of snow removal. no really. I wish i knew everything about every environment and people. Why? Because I can write a book one day--completely fiction--and I'll happen to know exactly what it's like to live in snow before i write it. Awesome.

And I'm from Cali. FL can kiss my golden ass.

o man. does anyone know who "Marsella" is from Syracuse? I heard some girl from there tonight on the radio in SF putting that girl on the "do not date list" for Wild 94.9 cause she's a "b****". Crazy. XD

lmao! i didnt kno they did that!!

and what?! im from the ATL, cali AND FL can kiss MY country fried ass.

HAHAHAH "country fried" XD

Haha ouch guys. I'm from Fl! Course, I was born in Buffalo so I knew they used salt on the snow. Btw Faleene, leather gets roughed up a bit.

Can someone explain to me why I was sitting through freezing cold rain in Rochester while my friends were throwing beach parties down here? Seriously hope that doesn't happen again in the next 4 years. Gee, Fl doesn't look so bad...
