Well...this makes me happy as can be, as it finally gives me a 100% for sure acceptance...As of Fall09, warrington will accept anyone into the business school(which automatically accepts you into the Univ.) that has an AA, with a 3.0(why so low, I dont know) overall GPA, and a 3.75 Pre-Professional GPA(with all 7 pre-professional classes finished). Seems a bit easy to me, but who cares, it's guaranteed acceptance if you meet those qualifications.

Only thing is, you can not transfer in unless you are at a florida CC, you can't come in from say FSU anymore, and you can't come in from an out of state college either. Score!

PS. If anyone doubts this, I have confirmed it with Brian Ray, the Assistant Dean of the Business School, as well as a few advisors, and the main admissions office.

There's not much reason why someone from FSU would want to transfer to UF for Business or really anything except maybe engineering.

ouch..
Well congrats anyway!
This will only strengthen FSU's B-school :-) yay!

parent2noles: Or the environmental program, unless they wanted to do geomatics. I was seriously unimpressed.

Kind of off-topic, but both schools have strengths the other does not have.

3.75 preprofessional isn't exactly cake for EVERYONE...

Just engineering??? LOL

To be fair, we should also include agricultural science and comic book studies.

I see good reason for an FSU business student to transfer to UF. UF is ranked a lot higher over-all with many disciplines ranked in the top 20. FSU looks like it only has two ranked 11 and 4 in public schools. Not sure where they are ranked nationally.

Can't include Clown and Circus studies... FSU is better hands-down! lol

Actually, the FSU Circus is a student-based extracurricular group. It is not an academic program or major. There is no such thing as "clown and circus studies" or a "trampoline department". Sorry to disappoint our Gator friends.

On the other hand, the Comics Studies Program at UF is very much real. As your site puts it "UF is one of the premier academic institutions for studying comics, animation and other forms of visual rhetoric in North America." Unlike FSU, at UF you can get a diploma with the words "Comics Studies" printed on it.

The entire list of FSU rankings has many programs ranked in the "top 20" (whatever that means) nationally: FSU Highlights

There is lots of money in the comic industry. It also requires comic creators to be artistically gifted, funny, witty, and entertaining. To be a clown in a circus only requires you to be put makeup on and run around with animals. Sorry, don't really see any skill in that.

I meant specifically in business since that is what you were referring to in your original response and the link you provided. You made the statement that there should be no reason for an FSU student to transfer to UF, except for maybe engineering. Based on rankings of FSU's business school and its sub disciplines, I could easily see how someone would want to transfer to UF.

Oh now this argument is just getting silly...

FSU MBA's only response was kinda silly... so it solicitied a silly response. Gators tend to work their opponents silly anyway. ;)

I was merely pointing out two renowned academic programs that are currently offered at UF. goufgators is talking about some fictitious "circus school", complete with magical clowns and animals, that only exists in his own mind.

Actual degree program vs. fictitious circus school. Real world vs. fantasy land. It really is a silly argument.

Listen, it's obvious that UF has a better business school than FSU, but that is no where near the point of this post...that's all I have. heh

I agree with you that it wasn't the point of this thread. But some FSU people decided to chime in and try to hijack this thread and not really help you with your questions. I apologize for them.

No, we just know sales hype when we hear it. :)
