Was I put on a Waitlist for UCSD or was I rejected?

<p>So when I logged into UCSD, it said this </p>

However, as an exceptional applicant, we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to be considered for admission, should space become available after June 1. This waitlist offer is available to a limited number of students and is not a guarantee of admission. </p>

<p>We cannot predict whether you will receive an offer of admission by being on the waitlist. To learn more about our waitlist process, please take some time to carefully review our Waitlist FAQs, which also lists the mandatory deadlines.</p>

<p>You have until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, to reserve your place on the waitlist online by submitting a brief 200-word statement telling us why you would like to attend UC San Diego. If you choose to accept a place on our waitlist, we will notify you of our final application decision as soon as we know whether we can make additional offers of admission between June 1 and no later than July 1. </p>

<p>Did you read what you posted?</p>

<p>I did read it, and it said that I have to notify them that I want to be put on the waitlist. I thought if you were on the waitlist, then you did not have to write anything more, but just sit back and wait for a decision.</p>

<p>^ No, if you are offered waitlist, you have to put yourself on the waitlist list, otherwise they just assume you have no interest in their waitlist and rejected you.</p>

<p>^ yeah, just re read the notice. good luck. the wait list is good. lots of students who were accepted will attend other schools.</p>
