Washington University in St. Louis Class of 2021 RD Discussion Thread

@ap012199 how did you get off the waitlist? Did they just email you?

Did any international applicants get an interview by chance?

@allima yeah

Is anyone applying for the arts and sciences scholarship in the humanities? I just wanted to see if anyone had a thought on what they mean by “describe and critically evaluate” a song, book, etc. Would that be similar to an academic paper in music theory / literary analysis, or do you think they’re looking for something more creative?

I applied RD (though by the ED deadline…) because I was afraid to take on a lot of debt should I not be awarded enough scholarships/financial aid. I know I’ll probably need grad school too, and I don’t want to be drowning in debt for the rest of my life! I’m really excited about WashU though, and I hope I’ll get in with some scholarships so I can go. Looking at majoring somewhere in the biomedical sciences, possibly on a pre-med track!

I haven’t received notification for an interview yet even though I applied by December 9th. Worried that I may not have answered a call or something. Should I be worried?

Same here!

Did anyone go to the fly-in?

@143WashU143 I went to the Preview Wash U fly in a couple months back…

If anyone is waiting to hear back about interviews, I requested an interview myself on December 21st (they did not reach out to me first), and then my interviewer called me this morning. I’m having my interview tomorrow afternoon. :slight_smile:

If I completed an interview on campus the summer before my junior year should I go ahead and request one now?

I just had my interview… I love WashU. I want to go so bad. The interviewer was so cool and he seemed more like a friend than anything else.

@ap012199 Me too! My interviewer seemed like a really neat lady and she genuinely seemed to love WashU. It made me really excited about admissions decisions.

Did any of you guys make a ZeeMee?

@ap012199 no

@ap012199 no, what is that?

@Runnergirl1226 its kind of like a mixed-media resume for college admissions officers to see.

i didn’t visit washu, is that not a good thing

i am also on the waiting list. a couple of my friends are is this normal?? how do i get off of it/

@DuelingGloves I’m wondering the same thing. I was interviewed by another student when I visited the campus this summer. Do I need to request another one?
