First off, thanks for the advice. I called yesterday, and I guess the admissions office is closed for Thanksgiving. They said they would reopen tomorrow, so I’ll try once more then.

Do you remember if your WUSTL Pathway status was complete before you called? Or did it still say you were missing some things? Because (as I probably stated earlier) mine says that my application is complete and to check back for updates. What worries me is that there was never a specific check for “First Period Marking Grades,” so I’m not sure if the “complete” status on the Pathway indicates that they have indeed received my fall grades, or if it doesn’t take them into account.

This would be SO much easier if they would just include “First Period Marking Grades” under the criteria in the WUSTL Pathway. But I’m probably being too harsh on WUSTL…having to go back to school tomorrow after a week-long break is a HUGE buzzkill. :(

Any more info/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys, hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

OMG can we please? I actually can’t think of anything else and time is passing so super slow. I’m going to grow old and die before december 15th comes by. I’ve been trying to do my apus gov paper for the past 5 hours but all i can do is look up wash u related things online. bleh this. is. torture.

oh and @cowboycliche022, i had a similar problem, but with my teacher/counselor recs/ed agreement/transcript (which were all mailed not sent electronically). wash u hadn’t received any of the above mentioned documents by nov. 17 (which was the day before the final “if you don’t have your stuff in by now you’ll be put into the RD group” deadline). I had begun to freak out on nov. 16 and emailed my app processor, who said that they hadn’t received anything and i should have my counselor fax everything over. As I was walking to my counselor’s office, to give her all my things to fax I received an email from my application processor saying that they had received all of my materials. Perfect timing! anyways i think that they hadn’t seen my materials in the mail and then when i inquired about it they checked again. Or it may be due to the fact that I live in nyc and st. louis is far from me. Anyhow they’re really nice about it so just call them when you get the chance.

OMG! same thing happened to me! well, mine was worse haha. I submitted everything my Nov. 15th, thinking my application is completed (I sent my pre-app via mail, so I didn’t receive WUSTL Pathway ID till 15th). Then, I left for school retreat, which was 15th to 18th. I came back home around 8pm… When I checked my WUSTL Pathway, it said my application is not completed!!! I started to really freak out! Apparantly, I submitted everything but ED agreement form. I submitted it through common app, but I guess I had to submitted off-line. I contacted to my counselor that day, and she contacted my admission officer on monday. Fortunately, he was really nice! He let me submitted the form and still stay for ED! :)

The Ast Director of Admin spoke at the Info Session I went to on campus in April. She answered the ED acceptance rate question. Last year Wash U accepted 42% of the ED applicants.

This could change if the # of ED applicants increases this year.

Ok so as far as games go, I am not sure which ones would be best to play through CC. I see many forums with the Word-Association Game, the Banning Game, and some others.

If anyone has any ideas or preferences, just start!

An easy thing to do is name your favorite book or something so we can all get to know each other. The Penn EDers have a real bond forming lol.

For me, although I have little free time to read, one of my all-time favorite books is 1984 by George Orwell. I also have a confession to make: never have I ever read a Harry Potter book or a book in the Twilight saga!

@rkdus Omg you’re so lucky. i would have just given up on life if that had happened to me haha. and 42% is really high! that’s like jhu’s ed acceptance rateee. noo my confidence is rising so now if i’m rejected i’ll be even more dejected.

I actually really enjoy any and all greek myths. It’s so interesting how all the stories are interconnected. I actually spent a good part of my day yesterday looking up classes on greek myths in wash u. I’ll be “tight” if i don’t get in. tight as mick jagger’s pants. but i have to say that my absolute fave series is the hunger games. It’s one of the few “teen tales” that have some sort of significance behind them. It’s one of those books that I feel kids may be forced to read in future english classes because it’s message is kinda similar to 1984 and Fahrenheit 451…kinda?

I haven’t read the hunger games either! But I know a lot of people who love those books. I guess you can say I wasn’t an avid reader when I was younger, which I regret. I did read the entire series of unfortunate events by lemony snicket, though :)

I tried REALLY hard to read those. i bought the first 3 books, but i just couldn’t get past the first chapter… and i used to read a lot of fantasy books when i was younger, but i read the hunger games last month haha. I felt like i had an obligation to read them before watching the movie (very good decision) and I still have mockingjay (the third book) in my room. It’s a month overdue from the library…failure.

Maybe I should try to read those in my spare time (if such a thing exists…lol)!

Oh yeah, I also read the first 2.5 books of the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini. I enjoyed those, but I never finished the third book (there might even be a fourth one now?)

And I just found out I have 6 overdue library books…$2.70 in fines :(

:( that sucks and yeah i read the first three books but he took SO long to write the fourth one that i don’t even remember what happened in the previous books ugh…if i get into wash u and get the money to attend then i’ll deff try re-reading it and borrow or buy the fourth book. and nina1228 where are you from? I’m from new york city

Yeah, I also read the first three in the inheritance series, but it just took so long to get the fourth out that I couldn’t get past it’s simplicity (especially after reading the game of thrones series, which is amazing, by the way).

@nina
Where in Ohio? I live in Ohio too!!! Well, I’m an exchange student from South Kore, so techically it’s not my permanent home… anyway, I live in Sandusky OH near Cedar Point! ( I think I already mentioned that haha)

I think tulane and tufts are my back up schools (but tufts isn’t really a safety) and i applied to a bunch of other schools that I don’t really want to go to, but wouldn’t mind going to.
I feel like everyone applying to wash u (at least ED) is from the mid-west. And I grew up in NYC so if i get in it’ll be really interesting to meet everyone that grew up in a completely different environment from me.
