Waterfront

last years football game in a pouring rain
with driving wind

made the plebe candidates pushups
(i think after each score)

a real real test

exciting time

Looking forward to it prouddad, without the terrential rains and winds though.

Anyone who makes it down to the pool,
and spots a blushing redheaded lifeguard,
you can feel safe during your swim.

If youve got a minute, let her know that
Dads thinking of her.

I dont know how she juggles sailing, academics
(Thermodynamics), inspections, "helping" Plebe
candidates and now lifeguarding.

Who is this girl ?
Not the nmall rat I knew a year ago.

When do the regattas begin? When will schedules be posted? Are the regattas condusive to dockside viewing?

we sail every weekend. some weekends (like this weekend) we just go down to manhasset bay and sail the small boats. other weekends we do races on the bigger boats. the p/c's probably won't get to sail too much on the weekends till after acceptance day. its not typically easy to watch from the dock, since we race in the middle of the sound and not necissarily in front of the yacht club that the race is run by.

public

did you sail sonars today with
my favorite redheaded
girl ??

no, i had watch today, so i didn't get to sail unfortunately

uh

bad day to have watch

you sail offshore or dingys ??

report from waterfront

"sailing yesterday (Saturday) was lame. no wind. We are going to try again today."

Son heading out on Kings Pointer with his group today...mentioned a bunch of the soccer kids are in his group. He said it's the perfect day to be out on water-blue skies and clear enough to see buildings on Manhattan.

Hope they have fun on the KP'r trip.

My DD '08 is the RCMKP and is on all the plebe trips -- every Tuesday and Sunday.

Perfect If Fictional Race

Like a kite she flew along
the course long island shore

her halyards singing a song
the captain had heard before

The crew so shiney so young
green. yet trained so well

this morning they were unsung
tonight sweet stories theyll tell

Boston College was hot
her gleaming white hull
a princess among men

at the bouy for them
it was all for naught
would she finish
and if so when ?

The Coasties faired better
with their regiment and tacks
clearly an academy boat

but when she got stuck
with the wind at her back
her loss was already wrote

Twas a two way race
it was to be
midshipmen versus midshipmen

their flags flying high
for all us to see
a battle against their own kin men

Kings Point fired hard'
with a straight steady course

while Navy tacked to and frow

In the end Kings point
finished with force

with Annapolis
as its tow

Go KP Sailing

Anyone have info on this newer Kings Point boat ??

My daughter cant find me a link or info or anything
and shes sailing on her

basically all the plebes should join the crew team.
we're the amazing team of the waterfront. come and check it out!

2day

eeewww
here comes the crew
hope for no waves
no tippy tippy
and no out of synch oarsmen

roarrr
there goes the offshore
what will come
will come
lets go trans Pacific

Go Plebes

no way, crew is amazing. the true athletes of the waterfront
(i know i just sparked a fight, but let's see where it goes :) )

no fight in me

Go KP Crew
Beat Ivy League

is that spandex or tights
that you guys wear?

and can I get it at Lane Bryant ?

tis spandex. i'll agree i don't like that part, but if we wear anything looser fitting it'll get caught in out seats and cause breakage.

I wish they had it back in my day.

the only reason why i'm pushing crew is because the sailors like to dog on us for no real reason. yeah, we get up way early, we wear spandex, and we miss every inspection there is. but rowers are tremendous athletes and all around good guys. we have a lot of fun in every city we go to, and we do so without any drinking. not trying to spark that issue, but there have been a lot of issues in the past and present with sailors and alcohol. i'm just saying that if a kid wants to be out on the water and not have any pressure to do that kinda thing, he should check out crew. we have a blast, we get a great workout, and we go to sweet places!
