it was weird at my medstart interview because the dean was like “yea, i really like how you did your resume…not many other students did it the way you did” so hopefully thats a good sign and then he was like yea, i don’t really have any questions for you because you answered everything i needed to know in your resume :?

not sure what that meant. but anyways, have you guys ever heard of anyone who seemed completely highly qualified and didn’t get into top 15?

^didn’t get your PM, but yeah, my interview was very short too…15-20min. long, probably closer to 15.

And, I think MedStart goes for the best candidates possible. There may be some people who are very qualified who don’t get in because of a bad essay/something that sticks out in a bad way/coming off as arrogant, etc. during interview or something of those sorts, but overall I think MedStart wants the best and they don’t mind going into the Waitlist in the event that people turn down MedStart. (every year 2-3 are taken off the waitlist)

I tried to be simple and straight forward in my resume. I did it bullet point/resume style. I did a lot of reflection on my health care experiences and the dean said he liked how I reflected so hopefully the med school panel will too! lol :/

And yea, I heard that one year 8 people were taken from the waitlist :O

@ilovelost, my resume was 3 pages long. @medstart1993, I wrote the SAT, but it would be equivalent to a 35, but I don’t know how much stats mean at this point.

I think she emailed the top 15 to call her…I imagine she wouldn’t wait more than a week or two to contact the alternates.
I’m ISS, and I’ll probably end up going unless I get into a really good OSS school
