Hello, i am taking the SAT next year and plan to study over the summer. Is there anything i can do to improve my math score? Any books to recommend? Is there anyone who has had the same problem- how did you overcome it?

I would say get a Barron’s book. It’s really helpful. You’re gonna really have to crack down. What’s the highest math course you’ve taken?

Algebra 2 H is the highest course. Is that enough.

Oh wow. I see why it’s difficult. A lot of people have taken up to at least Pre-Calc.

^^^ SAT MAth I is only up to algebra II; just keep practicing
and only on CC have alot of people taken up to pre-calc, not in the real world…

bump please

One word of advice to improve your math score is keep on taking the practice tests from the BB. It will really help you familiarize yourself with the types of questions presented on the SAT, and many of the questions will actually be very similar with different numbers. After you take each test, see why you got each problem wrong so you won’t make that mistake again. The only thing that it really can’t help you out with is the last few questions of each math section. One of my friends did this and brought his PSAT score of a 61 to a 700 on the real thing. Not bad, considering he didn’t take any expensive prep courses or private tutors.

^^^IMO lots of people have taken Pre-Cal by 11th grade in the real world. I know some kids in AP Calc BC in 11th grade (Not G/T).

Yeah Borb, a few of my friends are in AP Calc BC in 11th grade and taking Multivariable in 12th. In the real world, I think it’s pretty evenly divided people taking PreCalculus and Algebra II in 11th grade. The worrisome thing is that some people in my school are still in Algebra I or Geometry.
