How bad is the weather really at Cornell?

I've lived in Boston my whole life. Is it significantly colder and more snowy in Ithaca than in New England?

I've lived in Boston my whole life. Is it significantly colder and more snowy in Ithaca than in New England?

Coming from Boston to Ithaca shouldn't be much of a change. I'm in North Jersey and the time I spent in Ithaca wasn't bad at all by my standards.

I went to cornell and I 'm in Boston now. I have found that the winters here in Boston are way worse than the ones in Cornell. Maybe its just because its been really bad here the past couple of years.

The short answer is no...

Put it this way. Ithaca gets lake-effect snow, and Boston gets Nor'easters.

how many months of snow does Cornell get? How many months of proper summer?

people always say that Cornell gets soooo cold. well, its colder in Vermont/Maine (20s) region and gets even colder (-10s to 10s) in the Midwest.

Cornells just like dirty weather, like slush and rain and stuff like that--pure snow is awesome--u can play... SNOW FOOTBALL in it

Live in Buffalo,NY (Snow Captial of the World)for a year before going to Itacha, you'll be fine for your four years. Compared to Buffalo everywhere else is cake.

the midwest is warm today! but it's true that it does get really really cold- i'm excited to move to somewhere with better weather.

It wasn't much different from my home in Jersey. Definitely not as bad as people claim.

w00t, won't be that different for us canucks

i am going to miss my 70 degree winters from so cal

Mmm... lake-effect snow... a word that us Midwesterners know well... Hopefully some of the gorges will stop alot of the snow, lol...

ccvball1 you should take a winter in NY prep course (if they existed) lol

start skiing..it'll make time go by a lot faster:)

Haha, snow football? How do you play that? Do you make the football out of snow?

I'm hoping to take my time up in Cornell to learn to ski and to learn to ice-skate...

abike i def. do need a course in NY winters. any hints about dealing with the cold are welcomed by me

get a huge north face jacket and bundle up
