I know, I know, I first need to get in, but in case I do, I was wondering just how much colder is Ithaca than Oregon? A lot of people say the weather at Cornell is bad, but I'm wondering if part of that is because they aren't used to going weeks without seeing the sun like I am here in Oregon. Of course it's colder, but just how much worse is it?

Also, does the campus seem to close down when it's cold or what do people do when it gets bad in the winter?

Upstate New York weather is fairly dismal, but you can trudge through it. Here's a comparison for the month of March of Portland, Oregon (it's the only city in Oregon that I know of, sorry) and Ithaca, NY.

Portland, OR
Ithaca, NY

Actually... now I'm jealous. Portland's weather looks great in comparison.

How about Chicago?

You can find this information on www.weather.com. Type in a city, click on the Month tab, and then compare it to the Ithaca link.

Here's Chicago, IL versus Ithaca, NY.
