Okay first of all is taking weight loss supplements bad? I heard that some of them are good and that you should talk to your doctor first. Also does anyone know of any good recommendations of supplements? Thanks

On a side note is eating too much rice bad for you? I eat it almost everyday and I think due to this only my stomach is huge and I have gained a lot of weight.

Please help and any suggestions would be helpful.

I haven't heard of anyone taking weight lose pills and having them work. If it was that easy so much of America wouldn't be overweight. The new FDA approved pill has so many bad side effects its not worth taking it to lose an extra 1 -3 pounds month in my own opinion.

I've lost a lot of weight and I still eat all types of things, rice included. I don't believe in the whole you can't have carbs if you want to lose weight myth. I have a ton. Counting calories is the most important thing you can do.

just go to the gym if u want to lose weight.....football+gym has helped me go from 17% bodyfat to 8% from the beginning of freshman year to now(rising junior), while gaining 10 pounds.......yeah id say don't eat to much rice eveyday- it doesn't have that much nutritional value unless it's brown rice

Weight loss pills that work are just hardcore stimulants. By speeding up your heart, it mimics what exercising would have done. DO NOT TAKE THEM. They damage your heart. And the 'better' the weightloss pills, the more damage to your heart they do. Take for example ephedra. It did wonders for people when it came to weightloss, but also killed some high profile athletes. The FDA then decided to ban it.

Aerobic exercises (distance running/jogging) with some healthy food will melt the pounds right off.

Yeah, but that's only because you are catabolizing your muscles.
If you want to lose fat, then you have to increase your muscle mass by lifting weights or by doing HIIT or whatever.

"huge stomach and gained a lot of weight"
Check your BMI ( you can find calculators on the web) See where you fall.
Look at calorie intake/use and nutritional value of the foods you are eating. Keep a diet diary for 5 days or a week and see how much you are REALLY consuming. It may surprise you, and then cut it back in a healthy manner (low fats, good quality carbs ) and as has been said increase your exercise, even if it is only walking....

weight loss pills, even "organic ones" are a waste of money and dangerous to your health. they also don't provide long term weight loss, as soon as you stop them, you gain again.

Does anyone know if it's bad if you take fewer calories that what you need? SOad I checked out the website. It was so useful!!! It said to take fewer calories, around 2000, but I only take like 1500. Is this bad or should I be taking more calories.

If you're struggling with your weight at the calories you're having then maybe have their suggested calories. The calories they suggest for me have always worked, although right now the last 10 pounds are hard to come off, but that happens with almost everyone.

If you're not getting enough calories you're body will go into starvation mode. Meaning that it will efficiently use whatever calories you are having, but because it thinks you're starving it will save all the stored fat and instead start using muscles for energy. Muscles burn a lot more calories than fat does, so using the muscles will make your metabolism much slower. In general the amount of calories a person should have should really never be below 1,200, but 1,500 may too low for yours. Also your body will get used to having a set amount of calories or particular foods day after day. Change things up a bit.

Don't use weight loss supplements! Just exercise!!! I personally prefer running, because it's really nice to run outside on summer evenings =P Exercise also makes you feel good in general (boosted dopamine/serotonin levels = improved mood). That way, you're not just oddly skinny, you have muscle and you're physically fit =)

eat smaller portioned meals more often during the day, eat a big breakfast full of protein, avoid white bread and get whole grain instead, eat lots of fruits and vegetables..drink protein shakes
make sure to have a constant exercise routine, dont go all out one day and then stop for 5 days, try to do something every day.
Also, dont over do it, and treat yourself to something bad every once in a while.

Diet pills suck and do not work. Like vin09 said, eat smaller portions, about 2-3 hours apart. Cardio in the morning is the best for burning fat reserves. Good luck. HIIT is great for fatloss.

you have to have a minimum of 10 characters to post a post, so you just put 10 char there if you have nothing else to say to fill up the 10 chars you need.

I like the 8 minute abs workout on YouTube.
I don't really care much about abs. I just don't want my stomach to be pear-shaped. (want it to be straight)
Is HIIT effective? I run on a treadmill at a steady pace. About 3-4 times a week.
