In addition to the usual "can I get into x, y, z schools" could I also get a range of schools I should realistically be aiming for? While most people on this site have their list of schools narrowed down to a few by junior/senior year, I have no idea where I should be applying. I think my grades could only get me into a state school, but my counselors keep telling me to aim higher because of my mediocre test scores. I was depressed throughout high school until the 2nd semester of Junior year. So, my grades until then were horrible and I had even failed a class. (I had to retake geometry; that's why I was a junior in algebra II.) I go to a poor inner-city school; so in terms of class rigor it's either IB Diploma candidate or almost no options. (I had to fight the counselors for my schedule for this year.)
