weird GPA calculation...

My current GPA is 3.72 which does not sound high. But I only got 2 B‘s and all others are A and above in my four years of high school and there are many classes during these year. The reason for this is because my school has A and A. Getting A means having an 4.0 and A is 3.5 . Only 1 or 2 people in my class can get A* in a subject so it makes getting 4.0 even harder.

Will this affect my admission? Will universities recalculate my GPA?

Thanks!

Some colleges will recalc your GPA, some will use the one provided by your HS. All will look at the transcript. Don’t worry. It’s not something you can do anything about anyway.

Thank you so much!

Also each HS sends a school profile along with each transcript. Among other things the school profile will explain your high school’s grading system. So your GPA will be reviewed in its proper context. And as noted above, a number of colleges recalculate GPA. It should not be a concern.
