The email reminder sent out by Berkeley today said, "Still not sure? Please SIR anyway - save your spot on campus, even if you change your mind later."
I thought we were not allowed to SIR multiple places. Anyway, the wording is really weird, so I wanted to see if anyone could clarify?

You ARE allowed to SIR to multiple UC’s, but you have about until May 10th to withdraw the SIR you do not want to submit.

You CANNOT SIR to multiple UCs! See link below:

http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/how-to-apply/after-you-apply/admission-decisions/

Scroll down the page to the subheading “Acceptance of Admission” where it states:

You may accept admission to one campus only. You may not transfer your acceptance from one campus to another after you declare your intent to register. A $100 nonrefundable deposit must accompany your acceptance.

Also, under the subheading “Waitlists,” it states:

You can accept waitlist offers from multiple campuses, but you can only accept one offer of admission.

That email is basically saying why not SIR now and if you change your mind, you have until May 10 to withdraw and after that you can SIR somewhere else.
I agree that it’s odd that they’ve sent these.

This is something new then, because in fall or 2012, I submitted an SIR to both UCI and UCB then withdrew my SIR to UCI on May 3rd.
