Welcome Letter from Ohion State School of Engineering

Today a letter arrived welcoming our son into OSU school of engineering. Did anyone else get the same? It seems to serve the purpose of confirming that he has been accepted, specifically to that major/college. Is there any significance to this as it pertains to honors acceptance or scholarship. We have not heard on either of those.

My daughter received a letter today as well also for the school of engineering. She also received one today from Purdue. Nothing yet on scholarships and I have been waiting on those.

I am answering my own question here…I called admissions because my obsession with mailbox was becoming borderline psychotic. The nice lady told me that there will be a separate letter with honors/scholars acceptance or denial and there will also be a separate letter with scholarship award or non award; no guessing or reading between the lines. She stated that honors/scholars letters will start rolling out the end of December.

I understand the obsession with the mailbox! If my mailman is an hour late I start becoming unglued! Ha!!

So, she said there will be a letter confirming either way on scholarships? Acceptance or denial? I would like to know something as I already spend a ton of money at OSU (older D already goes there). A little kickback would be nice. :)

Yes, the information she gave me over the phone was that we will hear either way. I asked twice and she confirmed twice. My son was not happy that I was calling so I tried to make the conversation as brief and efficient as possible. It was under duress.

After having a holiday yesterday, I woke up today and immediately was relieved it was a “mail” day. I need to get a grip. :open_mouth:

My daughter got her acceptance letter in November, then yesterday got a letter saying she has been admitted to the College of Pharmacy. Basically I guess this means they accepted your major?

@momtoaandv I believe so. Same for my son. On Friday he received a letter welcoming him to the arts and sciences dept as he majoring in Political Science.
