Welcome

Well seeing as there’s no other posts in here I thought I’d welcome all the '09ers. Which days are youse skies goin to previews? Tuesday the 12th here.

Monday the 11th here... i'm so excited! :) hopefully i'll see you at penn in the fall though

Wednesday the 13th.

I'll be going on either Monday 11th or Monday 18th.

How disadvantaged is a student who doesn't attend? We live 2,000+ miles away & are looking at over $1,500 for two tickets, hotel, rental car, & meals.

Not gonna be able to attend unfortunately, bah!

lwk really that much? I'm looking at flying down for a day myself (or maybe a night also), and i don't think ti will be that much. You really dont need a car.

ya unfortunately i cant go either; i wish i could but its too much with studying for ap tests and not really worth the $200 to fly there from LA. oh well, i cant wait to meet you guys in the fall! have fun:O)

'06 er trespassing for a moment - If you're already sold on Penn, the only thing you'll really miss out on by not showing up is a canvas tote bag. You'll get all the tours and welcomes when you come to NSO in the fall.

I'm not gonna go myself, I'm set on going so spending 400 in flight and hotel just for one day in philly isn't worth it, I'd rather have that money going towards my EFC.

I'm flying in from England for the week just to go, and its not costing me near as much as 'lwk'

Cant wait though - im gonna go on thursday the 14th i think

I don't live near a major airport. I have to fly to Salt Lake first, then on to Philly. Tickets are $558 each. I think I need to bring a parent because I'm 18 & can't rent a car to get from the airport to the hotel, & from the hotel to the campus.

Unless . . . is the campus close to the airport? I might be able to find a hotel within walking distance of the campus that also offers free airport shuttle service.

Suggestions anyone?

I am coming in on free tickets with miles, so i am quite lucky (initially i was not supposed to go).

As for lwk, i got an email, and they are picking me up at the airport and offering me someplace to sleep ( huntsman program). Also, there are trains and shuttles that can take you from Penn to the airport in 15 minutes, and taxis only take about 30 minutes. You should look into it.

aw...true_limp, what did we do to offend you?

can we go to the spring fling events, like the sonic youth concert?

Actually, I thought I was gonna go on a Monday but instead I'm going on Friday the 15th.

Offended by what...?

sorry t_l, that was kind of an oblique reference to your profile, and the wanting to leave London, and me being British. In future I'll try and remember the absence of telepathy ;).

Does anyone know if Penn can pay the plain tickets for international students to visit? I heard MIT is doing it...

11th! i seriously haven't stopped counting down the time until I can go to Penn again. School is such a burden. ugh
