I was told I qualified for tag, and IGETC from admissions at UCSD, I attend a private university (La Sierra University), they sent me a letter that stated I was not in good academic standing, and that I was not eligible for aid. I am wondering if this is going to be a major red flag or disqualify me for UCSD? (I am actually good standing I have over a 2.0, and not failed any courses).

that’s a pretty exclusive situation.
you should contact someone at UCSD as soon as possible.
maybe even make an appointment to see them in person.
explain your schtick, and hope for the best.

What are you saying, that you are currently enrolled at a 4-year college, while taking online classes at a community college and that you are not eligible for a TAG/IGETC to transfer to UCSD?

Or are you saying you’ve lost your financial aid? How many courses are you taking at La Sierra?

Yeah sorry about that…what I am asking would this disqualify me for admission to UCSD since the letter said I am no longer in good academic standing?

Sorry for the other information, that is basically the problem. It says I am not in good academic standing (as I said above is not true), and this is going to be a red flag if UCSD sees this correctly? I am not sure how I will even be able to explain this?

Yes, the letter says I am not in good academic standing, and that due to this I lost aid.

Im still a little confused as to how you could be in bad standing. The only thing I can think of is progress probation. Usually there are two types of probation, academic & progress, although some schools lump it together in one letter making it very confusing. Progress probation can effect your f/a even if you have a high GPA. I was put on progress probation once & I had a 3.75 GPA at the time. It was because I was taking too long to get all of my units due to family responsibilities. Some semesters I had like 7-8 units and I was getting f/a for too long w/out reaching my unit requirements. I had to petition to get my f/a & the probation came up on my transcripts. When I explained it to the adcoms at Berkeley about the mark on my CCC transcripts they didn’t have a problem w/ it since it technically wasn’t academic.
You might want to call the school who marked you in bad standing and ask them if you are on progress probation.

You’re probably in bad standing because you didn’t go to church every saturday. Small christian colleges care about more than just academics.
Did you skip friday night vespers?
smoke?
drink?
eat meat… pork?!?
watch tv on saturday?
deny Ellen G. White?

It was probably church attendance…I guess. I was excused from worship during the week since I had classes that were during worship…

I did not go there long enough to not complete the major requirements. I have been there two semesters, and they did not offer the courses I needed to take for my major…until this fall…so yeah I don’t get it. Thanks for the help.

^^ HFS… was that really the reason? I thought Bmop was just being sarcastic…

I was being sarcastic, sorta. I was raised SDA, so I kinda know what s/he’s dealing with. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if church attendance is the reason.

Actually after the first two sentences, I wasn’t just being sarcastic, I was being a complete jerk. Do I regret it? No. This is the internet, you people don’t know me.
